They simply shot into a crowd in Vegas, not any 1 person was targeted, they were all targeted, and my bet is each person wasn't singled out for the way they vote or their political beliefs. Same way with the Church.

And why do some of you here, always blame a so called political party and it's affiliation with the mass murderer? Mental issues don't lean left, or right.

On your first point, of course no single person was targeted. However, if we are to assume the claims that some here are making are true, that these ARE cases of "terrorism", AND, if the groups targeted can be assumed to likely be conservative, the the logic would follow that conservatives were the targets of terrorism. No?

As to you second point, if these are cases of "mass murder", then political affiliation of the shooters and of the targets have absolutely no bearing on the crime. On this we seem to agree.

I will assume by your comments, you are saying these are cases of mass murder and not of terrorism?

I am not getting into the debate on whether it was terrorism or mass murder. These mass murderer's terrorize everybody. And in these types of killings, we are to assume nothing, and especially being politically motivated. These type of people usually have mental problems, and probably shouldn't be allowed to buy firearms.

If you were going to shoot a Trump crowd you would target a country music festival or a Christian church in Texas.

Really? Then why did Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood do a bit about Trump should stop tweeting on the Country Music Awards last night?

That was more fun than anything.

No. It was political. Country music fans and Christians are NOT all Trump supporters, what hogwash.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood had no time for the Country Music Association’s guidelines.

The CMA hosts came out swinging Wednesday night with a response to a pre-show warning that press was to avoid topics including guns and the Las Vegas Route 91 Harvest festival shooting.

“Now, Brad, I don't know if you've heard about this, but the CMA has given us some guidelines with specific topics to avoid,” Underwood said. “So we can't be doing any silly little songs because this year's show is a politics free zone.

“Right now, he’s probably in his PJs, watching cable news, reaching for his cellphone. He’s probably asking Siri how in the hell you spell Pocahontas. In the middle of the night from the privacy of a gold-plated White House toilet seat, he writes little Bob Corker, NFL and covfefe. And it’s fun to watch until little rocket man starts a nuclear war. Maybe next time he’ll think before he tweets.”

I agree
here is a view of my pov on issuing gun permit over 5yrs ago

Thread started 05/18/12 8:37am

here was my opinion at the time.
¤
do you think that the florida gun laws should also include a (psychological) medical background check on the would be purchaser of a gun?
if the gun laws were amended to include a this type of background check before the purchaser obtained a gun and a permit, a major decision could be made to either allow or deny the applicant. if the person/applicant is on doctor prescribed mood altering drugs due to violent mood swings, depression or the such, then the state should have the right to contact the physician to inquire whether or not the said would be a danger to himself or others if issued the permit or the right to carry a weapon. what do you think or feel about this?

in these times imo gun permit forms should be universal.
and human error like overlooking or not diligently including the task of quality control should be mandatory and error maker should be held FULLY accountable.

Devin Kelley: Texas shooter was denied gun licence before carrying out massacre
: https://www.google.com/am...html%3famp
Monday 6 November 2017
excerpt:
1. So how was it that he was able to get a gun? By all the facts that we seem to know, he was not supposed to have access to a gun,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott told CNN’s Chris Cuomo, citing the director of Texas’s Department of Public Safety. “So how did this happen?”
2. Kelley reportedly bought a Ruger AR-556 rifle in April of 2016 from an Academy Sports & Outdoors store in San Antonio, according to officials. When filling out the background paperwork for that weapon, the future mass-shooter ticked a box indicating that he did not have a disqualifying criminal history, and he filled in a Colorado Springs, Colorado address when asked where he lived.

sometimes the check doesn't come back right away... sometimes it does... i am not sure on the timeline but if nothing comes back in some time frame then the store can choose to sell or not sell the firearm.

I would like to see a system more like a credit score. And have a quick pass form of ID that runs the checks and clears the purchase. That would, of course, be voluntary and an option to the current format.

If wal mart can approve or deny me in 30 seconds for a credit card then there is a way to do it for guns.

Since there was discussion as to whether this mass murder is crime or terrorism, and since motivation is a factor of determining if mass murder is terrorism, motivation is a part of the discussion.

If these are just people with mental problems with no political or religious motivations, then they are not examples of terrorism and in that case I would agree that the politics of the perp and the victims are inconsequential.

Another indiscriminate mass shooting spree happened in Austin, TX Saturday. A man randomly shot 4 people including a child on I-35. No motive has been given, just the excuse that he was drunk and didn't remember.
