but really? and who pays for that?

Abortion is a constitutional right and legistlators enact hundreds of laws to regulate it. Guns affect society way more than abortion.

Good point.

clarification: early term (first trimester) abortions cannot be banned. But post 20ish weeks is left up to the states. And it is a medical procedure and as such ought to have the same standards and practices as any other similar surgical (and it is a surgery) procedure.

And I am confident that in due time abortion for convenience (and most are) will be seen as a great evil...

most abortions end in something dying... most gun usage no one is harmed.

Only, is it even possible for you to just answer yes or no without being ambiguous? Do you think this shooting should open a debate about gun crime (regardless of the outcome of the debate)? Yes or no?

i am trying to debate... you seem to want to debate on having a debate... i say let's go....

other than existing laws and perhaps a ban on bump stocks, do you favor any forms of a ban on any currently legal firearms or of any currently legal features and if so what and why and what will such a ban accomplish?

Before I sign off for the night. I'm British - what do you think I think about your stupid gun laws? I'm out of this thread.

that is just stupid: you can take a uterus on a plan, into a school, half of the population gets a free one at birth, there is never a tax, there is a waiting period but that is not really the same...

okay and I have not said they should be banned. which is not the same as thinking they will be viewed as evil. abortion if you do not want one do not get one... same goes for guns.

what difference does that make?

what you should ask is "you must not have a uterus" being male or female is not contingent on body parts. As I said about half of the people are born with one. Some have them removed.

But what about what I said is not true? (and if you say tax that is a LIE just because some products are taxed by the state doesn't equal a uterus tax that is just a silly lie silly people (who are almost ALL for higher taxes anyway*) make up for reasons?

*it is funny how the left wants higher taxes on stuff but not tampons and lord have mercy if someone has to stand in a line to get a FREE ID to vote... but they vote for people who will almost always raise taxes?

Are you saying that anything besides those circumstances are just "convenience" ?
So a woman (or couple) who don't want a child or can't afford one or know that they are unable or unfit to have one should be FORCED to bear and care for this child.. because of YOUR personal "beliefs" ? Are YOU offering to help such parents, financially and emotionally and physically and practically???

A young woman where I work was there in Vegas - in the front of the stage. When it was apparent what was happening she and her friends hid beneath the stage in utter terror. She is truly traumatized. She seems fragile when she talks about it and said she comes to work because she is busy and it takes her mind off of it but she is seeking counseling for post trauamtic stress.

There is no question, there should be a debate.

How awful for your co-worker. Hope she makes out all right.

This thing about not discussing gun control after something like this is crazy. It's amazing they get away with it. We are a sick country.

Incendiary bullets were found near a rocket fuel tank (43,000 barrels) at the airport. He was trying to cause a massive explosion as well.

Thanks poppys. Even days later she is still shaken. These incidents are far ranging - they have a deeply horrific impact on everyone who was there and those of us from afar.

It is disheartening and disgusting that this is allowed to continue in this country. disbelief

They put it on special disks and sent it back to Mars where they will analyze it and beam it back down into the brain of infants being held in a pizza parlor in New Mexico.

I work two jobs (by day social worker, by night pizza delivery driver). By mere coincidence, both of my bosses were in Las Vegas at the same time. My day job: my boss stayed at the MGM next door to the Mandalay Bay. She said they were actually taking in a show when the shooting happened. It started about 5 minutes before the show ended. When they went to leave, they were told the doors were locked due to a shooting outside. My night job: My manager was actually staying at the Mandalay Bay. She said when she first got there, they were going to put her on the same floor the shooter was staying on, but she requested a lower floor. She said that when the shooting happened, they rushed everyone to a basement area, that she could hear the gunshots as they were moving them to the basement. She's suffering from some PTSD right now, nightmares, flashbacks when she hears a loud noise, difficulty concentrating. I'm just glad they are both safe. The interesting thing is that both of them will not listen to any type of conspiracy related to the shooting, as they were both there and they said regardless of any conspiracy, it happened, people are dead, and they themselves (especially my night time manager) feel that they could have easily become victims if they'd made one decision differently that night and are just thankful themselves and no one they were with were hurt.
