The View Fires It's Only Credible Host!

She's been gone for a couple of weeks. Not sure if she was the only credible one. The point of the View is having varying opinions from different women in different walks of life and experiences. It's not a contest to see who can win an argument or come out on top as the only opinion.

For a while now, Meghan McCain has been the name heavily floating around as Bila's replacement. I bet she's in before November sweeps come around. I frankly don't mind a conservative point of view right now, because I want to see how hard a GOPer is going to blow Trump's horn for him, or how they'll straddle the fence, or whatever. Bila was a Libertarian, but conservative in her views on most fronts.

She didn't blindly tow the party line which was refreshing.

According to the article the suggestion is that she was sacked because audiences couldn't relate to her, which is sad, because it suggests that the audience wants an extreme voice.

Well, there isn't much of a Libertarian voice around anyway, but I think The View is so stuck in "we need ├╝ber conservative girl for good show", and anything else they get snowblind. I did hear that she was let go because of something w/ the Hillary interview. I don't know.

I found her very extreme, right down to daily Republican talking points. She touted being a libertarian who did not vote for Trump, but she did not come off as sincere in her independence. She had to win every argument. Meghan McCain, meh. It's very hard to find the right foil for Whoopie and Joy. Two very smart savvy old broads who know what time it is.

Whoopi's been happy on the show since that smelly bitch left, now they're replacing her with Megan McCain. rolleyes Nobody wants her, but if they can survive that terrible year where they had both Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Sheppard they can survive anything.

I DVR The View and I never knew Jedidiah was fired....They have a team of rotating Hosts, so it's normal when one or more is missing...I always liked Jed, she's a Moderate Conservative and she stood by her Views...They should have kept her at the table...

I'm not crazy about Sara Haines...She's Goofy like Sherrie Shepherd.....Sara is more aggravating..

Sonny is my favorite NEW Host...She's Gorgeous eye-candy and she's a great Lawyer...

Sonny rubs me the wrong way. She's an uber feminist. Some of her views on the subject are extreme. As Lavar Ball would say she scares me.

If you think Sunny is an uber feminist you have a low tolerence for any woman who believes in equal rights for everyone.

It's pretty much one thing she got into a heated arguement with Whoopi over that set my alarms off. She's one of those by-the-law girls who lives and dies by her law degree. There seems to be no shades of gray with this one.

Agree on that. She is very conservative in some ways. Like she called out for Bila to get married on air, saying, it's time, it's time, like she was her mother. Really not her business.

To me, it seems the main demographic is not one that wants to be challenged or to be made to think...they want a VOICE that they agree with and that will tell them what to think if they do not have an opinion.

Sunny is a 1/2 Southern Black 1/2 Puerto Rican Catholic- groups that I have mentioned many times have "conservative" views on many issues, especially social issues. Like many minorities, she can't be placed in one neat box

You could probably say that's she is politically liberal and socially conservative, if that makes sense. She grew up in the South Bronx, and worked in the criminal justice system, so she sees the inequalities out there , and speaks out against them .

I have always said that Conservative/Republicans made a bad move by not courting socially conservative Hispanics and Blacks, which would have diversified their party. Instead, these folks, who may have been attracted to the Conservative/Republican message, were turned off by the bigotry they witnessed and experienced from that side. And let's see how they fare with minorities after Trump

Meghan McCain took on the Confederate monument debate with the Thomas Jefferson, George Washington slippery slope argument today. What don't Conservatives get about drawing a line between an illegal government (Confederacy) and the United States government (including founder's flaws)? Why do they really want all those monuments to remain? Not to mention being made and maintained to this day using taxpayer dollars.

She tried to trip up Eric Reid, the 2nd player to take a knee with Colin Kaepernick, by invoking her father and the military but he was ready for her. His mother and other family are military. He pointed out more than once that this is not about the flag, the anthem or the military.

Did anyone see the show the other week when Sunny was making a statement and Whoopi told her, "First of all, don't yell at me". Sunny, looking perplexed says, "I wasn't yelling at you.". When Whoppi accused her of yelling, I was perplexed too because I didn't even think she was talking to Whoopi. So I decided to go online to see what I could find out about the relationship between the two. Found some articles that said Whoopi doesn't care for Sunny because several studies have shown black women relate more to Sunny than Whoppi and that really pissed Whoopi off. Also, another juicy piece of info I found out...that Paula woman who used to host during the week has now been relegated to Friday's only...the only day Whoppi is off. Apparently, it is well known Whoopi and Paula don't get along and can't be on the same panel.

First, I don't buy the bullshit about that study. Did they test every black woman, or even man, who has ever watched the view in 20 years? Of course not. Second, I don't think Whoopi was being overtly mean. I think she heard or took something wrong. As soon as Sunny said she wasn't yelling, Whoopi pulled back and the conversation continued. Those gals have an understanding that what goes on at the table stays at the table, and it's not personal. So for Whoopi to say something like that felt like she just read the moment wrong or something.

As far as Paula - nothing to do w/ Whoopi. Paula reports not only for Good Morning America, but she travels and reports for ABC World News Tonight at times. She's more of a fill-in host, and with Whoopi being gone on Fridays, it's reasonable to have her sit in.

Just for technical sake, Friday shows are taped Thursday afternoon. It started that way when Rosie O'Donnell was there. To my recollection, Rosie suggested they film on Thursday afternoon as to have a full weekend off, especially since she and others had kids and a family to attend to at home. A lot of late night shows started doing it (that weren't already). Hell, at one point Letterman was filming 5 shows in 3 days to spread across the week, which is why a lot of his monologues fell flat because they weren't peppered with current events. It's also why the Friday shows on The View might seem a bit different with hot topics.

Whoopi just wants to be respected and she is; everyone at the table is respected by the other. Believe me, these days with these new producers running the gig since Walters & Geddy left, they're trigger happy to boot a guest that doesn't gel for some reason. People aren't even finishing out the week anymore. It's a detriment to the show I believe, but it is what it is.

I am not sure what you saying or going with this but

if no one was pushing to go after Jefferson and others then and only then would you have a better point to make... but they are, it is happening. and it will continue to happen.

and spending several 100K and a death to remove the Lee statue in Dallas and $100s of thousands more to rename schools (millions statewide) including a push for Jefferson and Ben Franklin-- is loony tunes.

and the cost of removal is more than 10 to 20 years of maintenance.
