What I am thinking now is that the NFL players' unions just realized, "Hey - we have all the power. We will continue to kneel and cost the NFL $$$$$, and we won't stop until they give us what we want".

I think you're right, this is a loss for our genius president.

If that does happen then NFL goes the way of MLB and NBA in no time. It will not be good for the players if NFL makes less and less and people are just uninterested. I know personally the game itself is not the same. The loyalty of players to teams and the rivalry is not what it was and the play is more lame. I'm still interested in football but I don't think the game has the same excitement even with the Trump/Kap soap opera.

I predict Joe Sixpack will pick the NFL over politics.

NFL: Trump is wrong, we're not making players stand for anthem

October 11, 2017: 11:22 AM ET
: http://money.cnn.com/2017...index.html
excerpt:
The NFL says that President Donald Trump was wrong when he tweeted Wednesday that the league is now demanding that players stand during the National Anthem.
🤔
donnie-boy's tweets continue to be unfiltered from his brain to his fingers. man what a shame that we have to explain this to our youth.
I guess donnie-boy's a blue liar as
in:
"a blue lie draws a line between good and evil. Then, it puts the liar on the good side of the line. The lie depicts the one on the other side of the line--the scapegoat--as evil. Like the black lie, the blue lie fends off guilt. Like the white lie, the blue lie makes all those on the good side of the line feel good about themselves."

Trump likes to use distractions

EXACTLY. I can't believe people fall for this.

I'm not so sure about that. Yes, he uses distractions but this NFL things has legs. If a short distraction from those 2 failures was the ploy, he blew it up too much.

Colin Kaepernick files grievance accusing NFL teams of colluding against him

By Mark Maske By Mark Maske October 15 at 7:51 PM

Colin Kaepernick (7) remains unsigned after opting out of his contract with the 49ers (John G. Mabanglo/EPA)

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who remains unemployed after a 2016 season in which he began the movement of players protesting during the national anthem, has filed a grievance accusing NFL teams of improperly colluding to keep him out of the league, according to a person familiar with the case.

Kaepernick has very little chance of even having his case heard and zero of winning. His claim is that they all (or several) decided none of them would give him a job? That is not likely. And even if they did it is not clear if that would even be a violation. But as there are teams that seem to be all in on this protest and none of them offered him a deal, a full league agreement seems very unlikely.

But hey I hear the Packers are hiring!

Colin says he was blackmailed by the owners. Figures. Good to see recent polls where the public believe the protest was not against the flag.

then he will have proof.... the polls only show opinion and mean nothing... and I would also want to see their methodology....but it is meaningless

Hillary Clinton is absolutely right here. After all, it is considered "reverent" to kneel in a church or synagogue or mosque before God...Why is it wrong to kneel before a flag ?

Clinton also took a moment to defend National Football League players who choose to kneel during the national anthem in protest.

“Actually, kneeling is a reverent position,” Clinton said. “It was to demonstrate in a peaceful way against racism and injustice in our criminal system. That’s not against our anthem or our flag.”
