Howard Stern show on 9/11: Watch them turn into racist morons.

It didn't take long either:

"Just blow them all up."

Jane Elliott would not be shocked by this footage. I never knew they got that racist.

This will tell you the difference with me: when 9/11 happened I thought to myself, "oh my God, Bush will blow up the world."

Let's be fair about this though. Everyone turned into a racist moron for a moment, long or short, after that. Muslims, and frankly anyone brown skinned, was attacked verbally and physically and it continues today. Hell, it happened last fucking week and it was in the news. It was a knee-jerk reaction what happened on Stern. People were out of their minds. Hell, it was still happening as they talked - this wasn't day or weeks or months after the fact. This was well before Bush told us that we shouldn't go after Muslims in our communities and that Islam is not a violent religion. It was in the heat of the moment. It has to be divided that way as we look back at those horrible moments, and learn from that history.

I do think that since 9/11, society has learned the difference between "an Arab" (a generalized word for anyone from 'over there') and someone who is Muslim, or Arab, or whatever nationality, race, or religion. We've learned to know the differences between people and extremists. Most of us have, anyway.

All that aside, one interesting note is that Stern stayed on air well past his normal time. It was one of the only live news sources at that moment, and people stayed on that station to hear updates as they happened.

New York was under attack and people were freaking out - I cut them a little slack in that moment. But I thought the same as you sitting safe and sound in Cali - "oh shit - there will be more death coming!"

That was one of the craziest days in NYC watching the smoke from the building s a few blocks away, and passersby with grey dust all over them walking blocks away from the scene after it happened. But yes there were many attacks on people that some idiots assumed were Muslim, and they were not. But the fact is, many Arab-Americans were attacked and many perceived to be Arab and a Muslims. Some Muslims of various racial groups, were afraid to leave their homes.

i am only 8 minutes in but nothing racist...but they did say something stupid...well Robin did! She said we had never been attacked... LIE and she had to have known it! The WTC had already been attacked...

someone is using a slur and that is bad.. but other than the phrase... the statement was accurate.

someone said the towers could collapse...

Another caller said it might not be...

Within a couple hours it was reported on CNN.. Bin Laden. So I believe no perception involved in who done the attack. What is crazy is the press(CNN) knew soon after the attack it was Bin Laden. We also shot down the airplane in PA. I had connections to GOV at time and knew about it being "shot down" before it was even reported in the news it got dangerous close to something like, lets just call it another Camp David. I also have a seriously rich friend that lives in NYC some and he could see the towers from his home and he slept through it all and his daughter called him and told him to look out the window. This was hours after the attack. What a weird day.

it is fine to question some details but for some, they go into way, way far out delusional areas... like magic space lasers from the moon!

Others say crap like Bush was told in that memo! But that is just loony tunes as the memo say NOTHING what so ever that was at all or in any way new much less actionable. but clinton was told about them taking lessons to fly but not land planes

But some people seem to feel more comfortable if it was a big ass inside job as opposed to 20 guys with box cutters...

another silly land are fools like that liar. orphan and widdow suing scum James Janos who said because HE could not fly a flight simulator into the Pentagon then no one could.

We knew terror was coming, we just did nothing because in some ways we wanted it.

THAT IS THE TRUTH! bin Laden had said for years and years that when the U.S. stayed in Afghanistan after helping them move the Russians out of Afghanistan, that if the U.S. didn't leave, they would push them out. The USS Cole, the embassies, the '93 attack on WTC... the U.S. never took the hint.

How long has it been since WWII was over, and the U.S. is still in Japan and Germany? The U.S. used to hail bin Laden has a patriot for his people and his land, until he said "Thanks, but you gotta go." and then the U.S. was all "Wait, why are you so hostile?" The U.S. brought retaliation on itself. He warned and warned the U.S. to either get out or face the consequences. All those attacks were 30 day pay-or-quits.

Condi Rice said "bin Laden attack is imminent". No one listened. And now they're the enemy? Ask the children in that land who the enemy is to them. Ask the grandparents what their country looked like before democrazy was shoved down their throat.

Those that turned into racist morons, were more moronic than racist. They never saw the whole picture, and thought it was an unprovoked attack on the U.S. because women can vote and capitlism is prominent. It so was not that at all. They just saw brown skin people attacking 'murrica, and lost their minds and sensibility.
