Cosby: Just like clockwork, there it is ... pick a card, any card (we know which one will get picked)

So according to Bill Cosby and his daughters, racism has something to do with all the sexual assault allegations.

Did anyone NOT expect this often-used excuse to be used by Cosby as well?

http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/16/us/bill-cosby-interview-racism-trial/

Weeks before his criminal trial begins, Bill Cosby gave a rare interview to a radio host, saying racism and "nefarious" motivations could be behind the allegations against him.

The interview was an unusual one for Cosby who has rarely addressed the accusations made by more than 50 women, many of whom say that he drugged and sexually assaulted them.

http://www.bet.com/celebrities/news/2017/05/15/ensa-and-erinn-cosby-speak-out.html

Cosby's grown girls each released a statement about their father on Monday, May 15, claiming that he has been "publicly lynched" by the media and that "racism played a big role" in his downfall.

"I strongly believe my father is innocent of the crimes alleged against him and I believe that racism has played a big role in all aspects of this scandal."

"My father has been publicly lynched in the media and my family, my young daughter, my young niece and nephew have had to stand helplessly by and watch the double standard or pretending to protect the rights of some but ignoring the rights of others and exposing innocent children to such appalling accusations about someone that they love dearly and who has been so loving and kind to them is beyond cruel."

"Like the cruel history of our people, the legal system and the protections of the law do not seem to exist for him today."

"As a team, we have chosen to stand and interlock arms in unity. We honor those who have fought for the freedom we cherish. And we stand to ensure the riches and freedom and the security of justice for all people." --- Doug Baldwin

comparing it to lynching shows a total lack of understanding and insulting to the victims of the democratic southern system.

Cosby? The guy who constantly lectured other black people on accountability and not playing the victim? That guy?

Yup ... quite the hypocrite, eh?

If white devils in power actually practiced the Christianity/justice they preached and extended
justice towards all regardless of differences; and if the same white devils in power actually prac-
ticed the Christianity/justice they preached by making sure all had access to the same resources
they do, then Black American men charged with raping women would not be able to play the
race card.

So, until white devils in power actually practice the Christianity/justice they preach and extend
justice towards all regardless of differences; and until white devils in power actually practice the
Christianity/justice they preach by making sure all have access to the same resources they do,
aren't
Black American men charged with any crime justified to wonder, at some point, if they
may be facing some type of disparity when it comes to every single phase of the US justice sys-
tem? Well, we are facing racial disparity when it comes to every single phase of the US justice
system. source So, if I was rich and powerful and Black and charged with a crime, I would
definitely play the race card too.

OH NO!

You mean, I would actually take advantage of my access to resources and try to wiggle my way
out of a crime by using any method available, including exploiting my past in an effort to do so?

Who else, throughout the course of US history, have behaved similarly?

hmmm

. . . and let me add that the very first card Cosby picked was the very same card most white devils reach for when they find themselves similarly accused.

I wouldn't argue that it doesn't look bad or that I don't think he's guilty, but, he has already been publicly convicted in the court of opinion without a trial. That's certainly not right or the way things are supposed to work.

I think it sucks that race matters at all, and I absolutely believe that it does. I also think it sucks that he is a likely rapist. I also think it sucks the way he maligned others oppressed by the same system and for whom race mattered before him. I feel absolutely no conflict, though, believing that these things simultaneously exist within one specific example.

I also wholly acknowledge that I would use any means at my disposal to defend myself against what I feel is unjust. Any. Means. We (society/unspecified individuals) diverge on exactly what constitutes unjustness, though.
