1) on subsequent reading including the context of the posts before yours that included photos, i admit it should have been a little more clear to me that you were responding to those posts specifically. it was the 'some of y'all' and run-on nature of your post that threw me...i misunderstood.

2) attitude retained.

3) i don't follow policy generation or the behavior of white christianly republican men closely enough to consider myself a reliable alarm for change. i'll keep myself responsible for myself.

anyhow, my whole point from the beginning was to point out that nobody was discussing race til you chimed in. i wasn't seeing race until you made it a topic, as i feel you are wont to do. i would have liked to have seen how it might have played out had race not been made an issue. you feel the chip on your shoulder is justified, and it's not my place to argue against that; but the conversation would've been different if that chip wasn't there.

I agree with peedub. Some of us were having a much more nuanced conversation about this crime when Daesin came in. It turned into something else and what could have been an interesting thread was lost. He has acknowledged that. It is what it is. There is a saying - keep on doing it till you get it right. The point is we tried.

No, I acknowledged that I should have pointed out that Pokeno's post was insensitive because it
served to reinforce stereotypes that Black American men are dangerous and left it at that instead
of getting into a brief flame war with Only. The fact that you and others didn't perceive Pokeno's
post as being insensitive or didn't care to talk about the fact that it was insensitive is understood,
and that is because most people who do not have a history of being marginalized and oppresed on
account of their race are unaware of when they are interacting with racially insensitive language and
ideas and/or don't care. It doesn't matter to me what group you possibly belong to.

The sense I'm getting from your post above is that I unjustifiably derailed what was a nuanced con-
versation. No; I quite justifiably derailed your nuanced conversation because someone who I think
is prejudiced made a racially insensitive post and I'd call him out again if I had to. Some of y'all need
a primer on when you are making, unconsciously (because I think most of youse are good people),
racially insensitive comments: Pokeno posting a big ass picture of Flanagan was wanton and inappro-
priate for reasons already explained. And I've reasons to think his latest thread is a "fuck-you" to me
and others who have voiced our displeasure with his prejudiceness.

If you read my replies on this thread, I acknowledged that I was hesitant to even join the thread and why. Your "sense" that I think you "unjustifiably derailed" the thread is wrong. It just changed the thread, that's all. Please don't come gunning for me now. I am not one of your "opponents" by a long shot. I suggest that saying things like "Some of y'all need a primer..." lumping us all together without discernment are the very things you rail about when it comes to you.

As far as the thread Pokey$$ started today, I posted that I am boycotting that thread and gave the reason why. I have gone many rounds with him myself, challenging his views and getting reamed. This thread is over for me, I am bowing out of it as well. Good Luck to us all. And a final salute to Mr. Godwin and his family. dove dove

Hope the McDonald's worker gets the 50k for stalling the killer. So cool they stalled him over the fries which is very believable! They always mess up the fries. Haven't heard yet if they rewarded the loot.

They purposely fucked him around on the fries. Looking back how dangerous this man was they realized it was crazy. After 15 seconds he said screw the fries and left. The person that took order at first window thought he fit description and noticed Ohio plates and white ford fusion.

I think this guy just made a stupid decision in life and took out anger. This man could have been rehabilitated but would have been in prison but seeing the video of him he didn't strike me as cold blooded that he regretted what he did and would not kill anymore. What he did killing random that is messed up.

How calculating of the McD worker. Let's stall this man with the fries knowing full well that they have a history of making people wait for fries. I would have not ordered the McNuggets but possibly he was trying to ration his money and they have a deal on nuggets?

Steve Stephens Commits Suicide Proving Mental Health Illness Exist In BLACK Communities

April 18 2017 | : https://theblackmedia.org...s-suicide/

steve-stephens-theblackmedia-2017-.png?resize=720%2C360&ssl=1

THE TABOO SUBJECT

Steve Stephens, deemed as the Facebook Live killer, was found April 18th 2017 in PA by the police and before being taken in, committed suicide. Steve was seen on Facebook Live appearing to be of sound mind until he said he killed 15 people, and showed everyone who didn’t believe him he was serious when he randomly killed an elderly man, Robert Godwin in Cleveland.

Even though no one can confirm the alleged 15 kills, it sparked viral conversation via social media. One conversation that has yet to be had is the conversation about mental illness. Too often people of colour believe mental illness to be a lie created by pharmaceutical companies to obtain more money from the poor. While the latter is true, so is mental illness, and Steve Stephens is just one example of that.

During the video Steve Stephens claimed the reason he was killing was because of his ex. Reactions like this from people close to him gives insight to who he was before his mental illness took over. While claims of possible secret homosexuality have come forth, neglecting mental illness as a reason should never be off the table when it comes to sporadic moments like this. Not just for white people like Dylann Roof, but for people of colour too. Sometimes we can’t control our illness’s and instead of ignoring the issues we sense early on, we should seek help to prevent something like this from ever happening again.

dove

the cause of severe mental illnessa are insurmountable. i've listed a few via:

What Environmental Factors Contribute to Mental Illness?

~

Certain stressors can trigger an illness in a person who is susceptible to mental illness. These stressors include:

  • Death or divorce
  • A dysfunctional family life
  • Living in poverty
  • Feelings of inadequacy, low self-esteem, anxiety, anger or loneliness
  • Changing jobs or schools
  • Social or cultural expectations (For example, a society that associates beauty with thinness can be one of many factors in the development of eating disorders.)
  • Substance abuse by the person or the person's parents

there are virtually no mental health clinics or psychological facilities available in most black urban areas. seems the only time free psychiactic/psychological is obtainable to the poor is only after the become incarcerated.

yes the murder(s) are inexcusable in either steven stephens and dylan roof's case. they both took lives. both are equally guilty of murder and both should be deemed mentally ill.

Exactly, that's because they hate when they get caught using tragedies like this to post and bait. [Edited 4/19/17 6:03am]

If you don't like it you can create 2elijah dot com and dictate what, who posts at your site. But last I checked this story was all over the media. It was being reported everywhere because someone was killed on FB live. Had nothing to do with a race issue but a deranged/mentally ill man. I would expect "craigslist killer" was posted at org and that was a white guy? So by your standards. Your dictatorship you would find that story unacceptable because the guy was white and had a racial component. Insanity!

You're delusions are affecting you again. comfort I get it, it's clear you're angry because you got called out on your usual bait tactics. Then you play victim and blame everyone else when your agenda fails. Get over it, you failed. Now on topic...the guy has been caught, is dead, and can no longer harm anyone else. Now try to focus more on expressing 'genuine' prayers to the victim and his family, instead of giving his killer any honor. End of story. Enjoy your day.

Exactly. It takes an especially ignorant fool to claim this was a "race issue" when the victim himself was black as well. fishslap

This was more a passion kill the other was angry employee? Numerous suicides. These two russian teens snapped and fought popo and destroyed home before killing self. Another Canadian porn actress he killed his lover then had sex and dismembered his body and uploaded it. Overseas that has happened as well one guy killed his girlfriend cut off her head and took numerous photos and another death metal band member committed suicide that the band took pictures and used it as album cover. It is in the same light as someone snapping and showcasing it on social media for either some weird attention seeking. In this case this man wanted to upset his ex. We will see more and more of it. Something is off spiritually with the world. What I find interesting is the showcasing it for world to see. Something is off spiritually. This is why I have been drawn back to Christianity and Trump became President.

It's clearly a reflection of how self-centered and egotistical a portion of society has become. Think of the amount of time some people spend taking pictures and videos of themselves, where they are, what they're doing, etc and then sharing it with the world via text, Skype, FaceTime, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

They crave attention, that's what it's all about. Attention. And sometimes people do commit murder just for the attention.

Unfortunately, it will never get better because the same selfie-loving Facebook-addicted Snapchat-obssessed people are raising children to be the exact same way.

Years ago, who would have thought we'd go from a society that's private and dignified to one that craves exposure and letting the world know everything about you. I guess one of the benefits is that dumbasses who break the law will continue to incriminate themselves because of their constant desire for attention ... always a silver lining, right? lol
