Yet Blacks have been supporting Asian businesses for years. A boycott would help them remember that.

I see only one black woman in the video. Regardless, it's a tough call but I do think he went too far. She assaulted the shop owner first, striking him in the face and breaking his glasses. I think most African Americans, if placed in a similar situation, would react at least as strong as the Asian did.

You ain't lied. I usually buy my makeup or haircare products online or go to Walmart. Rarely, do I spend my money there. They're stalkers. Who needs the hassle.

Yep, they make millions off the Black community. Many Asian merchants get loans and build their stores in Black communities, but don't live in those communities.

Sometimes, I think only white people who have access to resources and are the recipients of policies
that treat them respectfully have the luxury and privilege of viewing themselves as "just human."

For many Black Americans, this is not the case.

I'm not judging you.

I'm just pointing out that for many Black Americans, the lens we view ourselves and our place in
US society is not as being "just human" and for many white people who have access to resources
and are not marginalized and the recipient of social policies which treats them respectfully, you
don't have the ability to look past yourself to see how my skin color impacts my life as a Black man
in the United States of America. In other words, for many Black Americans, color has everything
to do with everything - and justifiably so.

Maybe I am judging you; your privilege means you don't understand what it feels like to be me,
which means there are probably law-makers who act/belief similarly, and it pisses me the fuck off.

If she in fact struck the owner and broke glasses, that could cut someone in the eye and make them go blind. The lady not only deserves a beat down but needs jail time. End of story.

The store owner went too far. He held her down in a chokehold while another employee, pulled on her arm at the same time. She was backing away from him, after he kicked her, and he kept going towards her kicking and hitting her. He should have called the cops, if she had hit him first.

Of course there was no guarantee the cops would have treated her right, especially these days, because of who the woman is, but the store owner took the law in his hands. Reminds me of the Asian man on the NYC subway last week, who kicked a pregnant woman in the stomach on the train, while both were trying to get on the train. Glad they arrested the guy though. I mean kicking a woman? What kind of pussy is that?

If you punch someone in the face that is wearing glasses and break them that is going too far. If I was the store owner I would pack up and move to South Carolina where it is stand your ground and they can place a bullet strategically in someones head next time they pull that shit.

I doubt it would make a difference for you to move to SC to do that. You would get away with it anyway, in any state. Store owner could move to SC, doesn't mean his ass won't be boycotted there. Store owner should have called the cops. He took the law into his hands. He should have called the cops if she hit him first. He made matters worse by continuing to go after her, and pinning her in a chokehold. Now he is apologizing after the threat of his store being boycotted, and the community seeing the vid. I'm pretty sure the woman was arrested, but now he risks losing customers and his business.

Yup, just like this "woman" got more than what she bargained for after assaulting an elderly bus driver.

He should have called the cops? and what wait around an hour for them to arrive as he got assaulted. Because the cops are too busy dealing with protestors.

Well,

If you're so dissapointed/disgrunteled/angry, then why don't you go somewhere where these issue's aren't existing?

Last time I checked, the USA was the home of the free. Also free to move wherever you like.

As long as you don't come over here to the Netherlands.

Save your racist comments for your friends. At the end of the day will you pay the Asian man's bills, and support him if his business closes due to boycotts? Some of you need to stop using this thread to hide your obvious prejudice and bringing your Bannon-type mentality to the thread.

Again, Blacks have supported Asian businesses for years. The guy had no business taking the law into his hands. He went too far. All he had to do was call the cops and let them handle it, if he felt she stole an item from his store. I'm pretty sure that's what the cops told him as well. Now she may be able to file assault charges against him too for choke holding her, and he may lose his business. Fact is, he went too far.

Nah, just not prejudiced enough to think that EVERYTHING is because of color.

Since you're implying the shoplifter in the OP was treated more harshly because of her color, what say you about the following shoplifting incidences? They are the first four that came up on a simple search, and none of 'em involve a person of color getting beat down by a whitey or an Asian.

So tell us again what's different 'bout the video in the OP?
