An honest religious thinker is like a tightrope walker. He almost looks as though he were walking on nothing but air. His support is the slenderest imaginable. And yet it really is possible to walk on it.

The people who have the biggest problems with the Bible are the people

who read the Bible as if it was a textbook of science, physics, modern day

history and pinpoint augury.

Scarlet, I don't know how many times I gotta tell you this: Your problem is

with fundamentalists, dude. And there aren't any here!

So I'm beating a dead horse, huh? Please tell me the first or last time I, someone, or anyone on here for that matter, ever mentioned this subject?

Don't worry. I'll wait. But hurry up before Jesus gets back.

Seriously - you think anyone is going to watch 14 hours of YouTube? You'd be lucky to get anyone to watch 14 minutes. Of anything. Even naked women. Or naked men.

14 hours of Bible metaphysics?

Not happening.

Lol that' doesn't bother me at all. I really don't care if anyone watches it or not. I'm not getting any benefit out of that. I just wanted to post this to let people, who may be interested or intrigued can check it out. I watched the whole thing smile It took me a few days, but I've seen it all, and it clears a LOT of things up.

Then give us a synopsis of it. But I warn you - it'd better be a synopsis as good as the synopsis of "Take 2" I posted on the "Rate the last movie you watched" thread over on GD!

I have set the synopsis bar VERY high, LOL.

It's a very beautiful thing wrapped in an ugly package.

Yes, you are beating a dead horse: you think the Bible is a crock of shit. And I've

told you before, it is not a textbook. It is a faith book. Most of its claims cannot

be validated by science, so shut up already, damn. Talking about the metaphysics

of the Bible is like talking about the metaphysics of the Koran, the Talmud, Romeo

and Juliet, or any other piece of literature. It's poetry. It's metaphor. It's allegorical;

its spiritual validity is imposed upon by humans - it is not intrinsically factual. There,

are you happy? I'll say it again; the Bible is a sacrament; it's truths are imposed

upon, not factual. The Bible did not descend outta the heavens. It was written by

a bunch of Jews who believed in its truths, not facts, truths. So good luck with breaking

down or talking about universally what the truths of a poetry book are for millions

of people. This beared doctor is a fool.

I mean, really.

I didn't make this thread to debate and argue. I just found something beautiful I wanted to share with people. The actual meaning of the bible is deeper than stories and parables. If you watch the video, I think you'll have an even greater understanding of the bible and appreciate it more. I was ready to throw mine in the trash, until I started finding out all the hidden and secret knowledge in it. It's a shame that the whole time, the truth has been right under our noses, but it's been so twisted, and warped that we can't see it for what it is. But I understand that. Not everybody can handle and process the knowledge like it should be. So if you watch it or not is of no concern to me. I'm not going to argue about the bible with your or anyone. That song and dance is so played out, and it goes nowhere. I'm just posting information. If you like it or not, or read it or not, doesn't have anything to do with me. And if you have a problem with what's being said, I suggest you contact. Dr. Valentine and take that up with him.

I can't enlighten anyone. I'm on my own personal journey of enlightenment. I just want to share knowledge and information I come across with others who may be on their own journey or just starting out.

No you don't. You're disseminating information that constantly maligns the

truthfulness of the Bible. If you were truly interested in sharing knowledge,

you would consider the other side of the coin.

I've no problem in admitting that somedays, the truthfulness of the Bible is

a crock of shit. But not because I hold the Bible as factual; I hold it as con-

taining truths. There is a difference. You're own personal journey of enlight-

enment seems to be one where a component is to demystify the Bible. That

is a worthy cause and has been done by Christians like Rudolf Bultmann and

Marcos Borg and Dominic Crossan. They hold the Jesus narrative as mostly

metaphorical; some days, I think they're right. The Bible as literature certainly

be demystified but its truths cannot.

I mean a whale swallowed Jonah in Israel? That's clearly a metaphor because:

1. A whale/large animal couldn't swallow a man alive and that man survive 3 days

2. There are no fucking whales in Israel.

3. There is truth in this story, not fact.

See? I just demystified the Bible. You're late into the game, dude!
