No, not Stevie Wonder too: "Frank Ocean may not be gay, maybe he's confused."

Oh, Stevie is deeply religious unfortunately, I have his whole catalogue. Love his music, but it saddens me that he thinks this way. "8 Years Was Awesome and I Was Famous and I Was Powerful" - George W. Bush

Actually, I think I get what he is saying. I don't think he is intending this to be in any way demeaning or to be negative in any way. I think he means, exactly what he is saying.
I once knew a girl who was married and decided that she was actually gay. 6 months later she was dating a man and stated that she was wrong, she wasn't gay. Another 6 months passed and she was stating once again that she was a full fledged lesbian and was in a relationship with another woman. Now, "bi" comes to mind, but the girl constantly denied that she was "bi". She was either straight or she was gay. She was very confused about her sexual identity, but what I could see was happening was that when she would meet someone that she connected with deeply, she "fell in love" with them and in doing so, her sexual identity then became tied to whatever gender the person was. There are some people that do become confused. They feel close to someone, love that person, and may even have sexual thoughts or curiosities about that person, and then insist that it must mean their sexual identity is tied with that person. As Stevie said, "not all gay people are confused" and I would say, "most are not". But there are some people that do confuse affection and closeness and connection with a sexual identity.
Stevie did qualify his statement with "some people who think they are gay" and "not all gay people". So he is not saying that gay people are just confused, but some people who think they are gay are. "I gave my life to become the person I am right now. Was it worth it?" ~ Richard Bach

I kind of get what he was saying, i know Stevie is deeply religious.
But he has performed many times with Elton John, George Michael & even once with Boy George.
Hell he was hanging with Elton like 2 years ago... and well Elton is as out as u can get Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Exactly! He has performed with many individuals that are out and he always seems to treat them with as much love and affection and compassion as he does people that are not gay or are not out. In fact, I've never known Stevie to treat anyone in a less than respectful way and that's why I just can't imagine him intending his statements in a negative way at all. I'm sure Stevie knows where it's at and what it's about, and he is merely commenting on certain things he has seen with some people, and not a generalized statement about all gay people. Sexuality is the most personal thing we have to ourselves. Whether someone is or isn't something, is no one else's business to speak on. We don't know what that person is going through in the journey of discovering who they are. I can't stand when celebrities speak on personal shit that other celebrities are going to, and to some kind of publication no less. I guess nothing is sacred anymore.

Sexuality isn't so much personal but BIOLOGICAL. Sad that prominent folks like Stevie, who I love, are as seemingly ignorant.

It wasn't that bad - no need to apologize Stevie. My new album is available HERE: http://itunes.apple.com/a...mpt=uo%3D1

I agree, particularly if he was referring to Frank Ocean, whose coming out was actually a bit confused / confusing! Also, as apologies go, it doesn't get any better than Stevie's. No "I read the bible with my gay friends" crap!

He's straight so he can't understand us any more than I can understand why someone would be attracted to the opposite sex. As long as he ain't trying to start shit and hold us back, he's alright. Andy is a four letter word.

Oh good freaking grief people, Stevie is blind. He has NEVER seen hot lesbian action before.
If Stevie knew about THIS^, he would understand better.

I think Frank Ocean is playing with the notion of bi sexuality and experimentation, he never said he was gay or even bi sexual, just that he crushed on a dude that reminded him of Forrest Gump. By his next album he'll drop the sexualoty like Bowie, The brotha is exploitating gay culture like white dudes be trying to rip his style after he dropped his last two records. who cares anyway.
