I think the first one may be. A friend emailed it to me but those other two are pre-Blue Ivy. She has lost tons of weight since the baby though.
LOOKING WHITE RIGHT HERE!!!!

Ashame that so many black women seem to want to ignore their blackness "Do Me, Baby...oh, oh, OOOOOOOOOOOH"

If the word "white" is used in a topic title and album doesn't come right after it, odds are it's going to P&R "Do Me, Baby...oh, oh, OOOOOOOOOOOH"
"Scandalous I'm talkin' bout u n me" "Insatiable's my name when it comes 2 u" "When 2 R N Love their bodies shiver at the mere contemplation of penetration" "Flesh against flesh, And God Created Woman"

Black women ignoring their blackness? Prince looks light-skinned in many many pictures and he hardly wears his natural hair so according to that rationale I guess Prince is ignoring his blackness too :eyeroll: Everyone knows lighting makes a big difference. Or if you haven't been exposed to the sun for a while your skin can look lighter. This pic was taken 3 days ago and I don't think she's gotten paler at all.

The difference is Prince has always looked that way. Beyonce hasn't always been this light "Do Me, Baby...oh, oh, OOOOOOOOOOOH"

That's not even my point, I'm saying people can look lighter under certain lighting. If you're implying Prince has always looked the same skin tone, you obviously haven't seen enough pics of Prince lol
I got tons of others... u look them up urself [Edited 6/12/12 16:35pm]

So now you're implying all black women who wear weave are ignoring their blackness? [Edited 6/12/12 16:37pm]

You missed that one word. When your skin is lighter than it was before and your making your hair (fake or natural) lighter your clearly trying to be white. I really didn't think beyonce was trying to be, but now I'm starting to see it "Do Me, Baby...oh, oh, OOOOOOOOOOOH"

And I keep saying her skin isn't lighter like that all the time. Look up her other latest photos. Although I know for her latest album cover she does look pretty light and her hair is dyed blonde and that was probably by her choice. But so what? Keri Hilson, Ciara, Mary J Blidge and even Shakira and so many others have done that. Are they really all trying to be white?

To be honest, I thought Beyonce's style comes from Shakira with a Tina Turner mix to it. It is public knowledge that she always wanted to be Latina.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I can understand why some people can think that way, but when I read that "controversial" interview where she said she was jealous of latinas and all that, to me it sounded like she was caught up at the moment and wanted to sort of kiss up to her latin american fans... The way I look at this is this; tons of ethnic artists wear blonde hair, photoshop themselves to appear lighter whether by their choice or magazine editor's choice. But then again tons of caucasian artists tan themselves to death to look darker. They're basically trying to go with what sells best, or trying to surprise fans with the new look, it doesn't necessarily mean they wanna be something that they're not...

This makes sense to me and I agree to a certain point. Where I differ in opinion is that white artists don't typically tan themselves until they get truly brown or chocolate and they don't wear say afros or braids or what could be deemed as an "black" hairstyle. One can say that plenty white women are getting lip injections and butt shots but does that mean they are trying to look black or does it mean they are trying to look like Angelina Joile and Jennifer Lopez/Kim Kardashian.
It just seems that they draw a line and don't go too far to look less white but the same cannot be said of some black celebs.
I confess I'm confused by the whole thing and am only reacting to what I see. I see a change in Beyonce and I'm not sure I like it. I like her skin a golden light brown and her hair curly and dark and her curves. He looking like a bleached out blonde haired stick figure is a tad distressing because if somebody as beautiful as her is not content with their looks or is caving into a european ideal of beauty then what hope is there for this next generation of young black females.

Though I do agree with most of what you've stated, I think it depends on the individual as for reasons why they choose to change their images.

she's a mixed woman
but would you be happier if she kept a very dark tan and kinked her hair up to an afro? Now where I come from
