Well, obviously creationism was debunked 150 years ago. But I'm interested in this translation error. Any links? That reminds me of the story about the Catholic priest that died and went to Heaven. St. Peter said he could do anything he wanted, so he asked to see the original Bible, as he wanted to study the Word of God as it was actually written.

After studying the original hebrew text again, she says that there are errors in the translation from the original text into the text as we now know it. She says that what originaly was intended is that god devided the heaven and earth from the sea. The error occurred when the hebrew word 'bara' was falsely translated into 'create' where it should have been 'devide' Her theory is that there was already a earth, but completely coverred with water where creatures lived in. God then devided the land and the heaven from the sea. This is stupid...^ God then devided the land and the heaven from the sea.
She is NOT debunking God... but she is saying it shouldn't have said'create' where it should have been 'divide'??? 'The END of creationism, Dutch professor says'
How is this the end of creationism if she is not taking God out of the equation?

I've always heard and been taught both versions...'created' and 'divided". Makes no difference to me. Now we just need the translation for how he created ape out of the earth instead of man out of earth. "

No if anything it alters the origin of the universe but says nothing at all about the origin of the species.

If Darwin is correct... Id like 2 see 1 of his believers try and take an ape on a plain (first class American air lines) from cost 2 cost... If they don't let u...just tell them it's Ur ancestor...Se how far that would take U. Whaaaaat? This is what evolutionists are up against? Edit: For the record, apes are not our ancestors, but both apes and humans have a common ancestor that predates both. Secondly I will never understand why and how people who take such a strong view on evolution do so without even bothering to learn it. Thirdly, you truly are an odd little fellow. May I ask how old you are? Apes aren't being claimed as the starting point. The animals in your family tree rank from primitive single cell organisms through to rodents, through to sea creatures and beyond.

I am, no holds barred, a Creationist. You can extract whatever assumptions you want about how that creation played out, but In the beginning....Was God. As somebody else said, this is not a new teaching...My Bible even says "divided". Well obviously creationism tends to refer to those who accept a literal interpretation of genesis. So which god is that you beleive in; the christian one, or just a personal one? "It is an established maxim and moral that he who makes an assertion without knowing whether it is true or false is guilty of falsehood, and the accidental truth of the assertion does not justify or excuse him"

I.e. totally unapologetic and impossible to divert from creationism. I would guess seeking is another American christian, theres not a lot of diversity in religious belief amongst the org's devout really. To think they're only one god away from being as atheist as us.

Well given that Jews and Christians are out numbered by other faiths with their own creation stories I would say that you have it backwards. That those that accept a literal interpretation of Genesis tend to be creationists. But Like I said all this does is question the origin of the universe not of life or of humans.
