waiting 4 back up

after learning about another young black male

being senslessly murdered on the streets of

chi-town and hearing that the police on the

scene were 'waiting for back up', my heart broke

we cannot wait for back up while our children

I saw the video footage on CNN over the weekend....damn shame. It looked like a riot. Sorry, Graycap and Sumtymes, but I gotta disagree. These aint black folks, these are straight up niggas, and they have got to go! Chris Rock's ""black people vs. niggas."whole comic act comes to mind. Niggas, in Rock's view, were a source of ignorance, violence, and family dysfunction. While regular, hard working black folks were often times overlooked because of the niggas getting much of the press. Classic and so true within the black community, and this is a classic example.

Sorry mods, if I can't use nigga. I figure we are all adults in here. We might not always act like it, but we are. lol

This is a shame. From what I've heard, a 4th suspect was caught, and I have no pity for the youths that beat up that child. They'll all be in jail and will soon become somebody's b*tch and will learn what's it's like to be among real criminals and get their ass beat. They brought distraught to a family and stole the life of this young man. They had no respect or compassion for his life, and they deserve to pay to the highest degree for what they did. I have no sorrow for those that committed this crime.

I pray for the family of the victim. This is a damn shame. I refuse to watch the video as it will just make me angry. I am just so disgusted and angered about this tragedy.

There are some very good African-American parents out there who raise their kids with respect, but unfortunately you have many that don't teach their children how to respect others or to keep their hands off of other peoples' kids. It's obvious these kids that go out and bully other youth, are getting that behavior from home. I'm so sick and tired of hearing about these senseless beatings and murders by a bunch of bullies who lack respect or morals and values.

I hope whomever was involved in this crime, gets the maximum punishment. This crime is just heartbreaking. The fact that no one tried to stop the beating is just sickening. It is unfortunate, that on the whole, our society has become one where often it lacks of morals, values, compassion and respect. It's an "all about me, it's not in my backyard, turn-the-other-cheek, materialistic, trying to impress, cold-hearted, callous, keepinh up with the joneses society".

Many young people today in this society have no compassion. This isn't just a local issue or limited to one area. This problem is nationwide in various communities. How many videos last year popped up on youtube for the past two years with kids beating the daylights out of some innocent kid? Where's the home training? What happened to morals, values, respect? Just turn on your local tv stations and show me a program where young folks aren't fighting, calling each other names, being deceitful to one another, and its adults allowing these programs to be aired to our nation's youth. No I don't blame all the behavior on programs we see on tv or songs some artists put out that attracts our youth.

I blame many parents for not instilling respect, morals and values into their kids, and those that don't take responsibility for bringing them into this world period, not to mention, many that are aising them, apparently are not raising them properly and not teaching them to keep their hands off other kids. This society is moving away from family values, and teachers, the television, video games and computers are becoming today's "parents."

That's my point, lack of responsibility, it is apparent the many dumbass mofos you speak of, were not raised right by their own parent(s). No manners, respect or morals and values.

It irritates me that people bring children into this world and don't take responsibility for their existence, and society is left to deal with the social ills some of these kids cause. I don't want to generalize and say that all kids are this way, but it is what they are taught and not taught at home, is what they will display in public. Somehow it doesn't surprise me, when I hear what comes out of some kids' mouths, especially when you hear what comes out of their parents' mouths, and how their parents display their behavior towards others.

These days, there is no excuse not to take an irresponsible parent to court for support payments. Support payments are not enough, because it can't instill respect, morals and values into a child. A parent has to be around to raise a child. There is no excuse. You bring a child into this world, raise them with some manners and respect towards others. So many of these kids today have no compassion, and they don't care who they harm. It's ridiculous.

That's because his ass is not out there speaking directly to the people who need to hear him. You could put on a nice suit with a tie, and fancy shoes, talk ito a bunch of college students, with a smug attitude about those in the population where their lifestyle annoys you, and go on tv and criticize them, but that's all you're doing is pointing fingers and "talking" and they are not hearing you, because you are not talking to them, you are talking "at" them.

No one is saying you have to hold their hands to make them understand, what you feel they're doing is wrong or treat them like babies. But you have to find a way to reach them, especially if the group you speak of is affecting your quality of life or if you feel their actions and irresponsibility is affecting an entire community as a whole. Question is, is it "embarassment" for Bill, or does he really want to uplift a segment of the population?

Question is: What are those in society causing societal ills are lacking? What aren't they doing right? What can be done to educate them and make them aware that some of their actions are not acceptable? What got them to this point or specific lifestyle that affects others in the community/society? Where is Jimmy/Joanne's Father? Mother? Why is there so much black on black crime with our youth, and what are the "main" causes behind it? How did many of our youth get to this point? Those are the questions that need to be asked and researched.

That's my point, if you're trying to uplift someone, you don't put them down at the same time, you educate them on how they can do better. You educate them on what resources are available to take them out of their situation and move them forward. I'm tired of Bill acting like he was the perfect parent when it is a know fact that at least two of his kids were using drugs. Fact is, we need to get back to doing things community wise. Parents have to work with teachers, and more African-Aemrican families need to stop being afraid of seeking family counseling. Take care of the problem at home before it worsens. These days we have so many single parents raising kids, not just in our community, but it is being widespread across the border now.

This is true. There is no excuse for that. I still believe some of these kids that bully other kids, are not taught to keep their hands off of other kids.

This is true. There is absolutely no excuse for that. I still believe some of these kids that bully/pick on or beat up on other kids, learn that type of behavior from home. Kind of makes you wonder about who raised them. If these types of behaviors aren't caught early and corrected, often times these same behaviors are carried into their adulthood.

Hopefully, the individuals who did this crime will pay for it.
