Jane is a young woman living in Vienna who, while working as a medical editor, was horrified to learn in early 2009 of the fiasco in which a Baxter International research facility in Orth-Donau, Austria, sent a quantity of human H3N2 viral material to 18 European laboratories.

Such a supply of experimental material would have been totally normal - except that in this instance the H3N2 had been somehow contaminated with live H5N1... the far more lethal Avian Flu.

As a medical editor, Jane immediately realized the import of what had happened - and what had nearly happened - and raised the alarm. But no-one in the Austrian media was interested. She then took matters into her own hands and filed legal charges against those who she considered the perpetrators to be.

Very soon after, Jane was dismissed from her job without explanation. Undeterred, she sought support on the internet and continued her campaign. In the months since then she has attracted committed followers - and critics - all over the world. She is not alone in suspecting that there exists a literally diabolical plan which is nothing less than the genocide of potentially hundreds of millions of people worldwide.

Kind of off topic, but for all of those screaming that there is no link between vaccines and autism, here is a new study.....

rolleyes Oh, not this paranoid bullshit again...

Pick up a medical journal or two, and a biology textbook while you're at it, folks. The link between vaccinations and autism is negligible. There have been no studies that conclusively prove a link.

Stop looking for something easy to blame autism on, and invest some energy into looking for the real cause of autism spectrum disorders, whether it be genetic or environmental or both.

We are stardust. We are golden.

This topic scares me.....
I have heard alot of debate regarding vaccinations as I'm sure we all have. I have heard alot because I used to work for Scientologists (which is not for me hence why I lost my job).
It is all very scarey to me and even after all of it I decide to vaccinate my children. I do not allow them to get the flu shot though and noone in my household has ever gotten the flu but I do know of those who get the shot then immediately get the flu.....
All of these new vaccinations really frighten me. Are they produced by greed or are they really for out best interest?? Either way we are taking a chance. I have already decided that when something is "new" I will wait it out to see what the outcome and side-effects turn out to be.

If you posted any reputable studies that hadn't already been discredited, you might have an argument. There has never been a proven link between any vaccinations and autism spectrum disorders. I'm not saying it's impossible, but until there's reasonable evidence to believe so, it's nothing but paranoia and rumours.

Obvious? Based on what evidence? Any studies there have been done either show only a tentative, possible link, or have been disproven.

Most children who get vaccinated do not develop autistic disorders, and many children who do develop them were never vaccinated at all. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that certain vaccines can trigger autism spectrum disorders in people already predisposed to developing them, but to say outright that vaccinations cause autism is ridiculous.

Brought to the surface, my ass. Both diseases have been known about by the medical community for decades, and both have had public outbreaks in the past and, barring any cures being developed, will happen again. There is no conspiracy.

Most children who are vaccinated never develop anything in the autism disorder spectrum, and many children who are never vaccinated do. As far as any reputable sources have established, it IS just a coincidence. Jenny McCarthy is an actress, not a doctor.

Apples and oranges. Just because it's still medicine doesn't mean it's still on topic.

Hormonal birth controls are highly effective -when used properly. Accidents and freak pregnancies can still happen regardless, but 90% of the time when a pregnancy occurs while hormonal birth control is being used, it's because the birth control was being used incorrectly. Any chance of a pregnancy occurring is well documented and the patient is informed prior to use.

Care to stay on topic and respond to what I actually wrote in my previous post?

If by one-sided you mean prone to considering medical facts rather than paranoid nonsense, junk science, and celebrity opinions, then yes.

I've said nothing that isn't a matter of public knowledge. I have no idea where the anti-vaccine crowd gets the idea that discredited studies and Dr. Jenny McCarthy's opinion count as valid evidence, but they don't.

Hot off the press:

Autism rates back MMR jab safety

By Michelle Roberts
Health reporter, BBC News

Latest autism figures should dispel any fears about the MMR jab being linked to the condition, say experts.

The NHS Information Centre found one in every hundred adults living in England has autism, which is identical to the rate in children.

If the vaccine was to blame, autism rates among children should be higher because the MMR has only been available since the early 1990s, the centre says.

This is the first time the rate in adults has been evaluated.

Tim Straughan, chief executive of The NHS Information Centre, said: "This landmark report is the first major study into the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders among adults to be carried out anywhere in the world.

"While the sample size was small and any conclusions need to be tempered with caution, the report suggests that, despite popular perceptions, rates of autism are not increasing, with prevalence among adults in line with that among children.

"It also suggests that, among adults, rates of autism remain broadly constant across age groups.

"The findings do not support suggestions of a link between the MMR vaccine and the development of this condition."

Concern over the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine was sparked by a paper published in The Lancet in 1998 by Dr Andrew Wakefield.

'Safe' vaccine

This research has since been discredited.

But, until now, little was known about how autism affected people over the course of a lifetime.

For example, autism rates could have been lower among older age groups because people had gradually recovered from the condition or died prematurely.

The latest findings, based on nearly 7,500 adults, suggests that this is not the case, and that prevalence of autism spectrum disorder remains broadly level across all age bands.

While 1% of adults had an autism spectrum disorder, the rate for men was higher (1.8%) than for women (0.2%). This was in line with studies among child populations which show higher rates amongst boys.

And in line with recent report from the National Audit Office, the study also found many of these adults are failing to get the diagnosis and specialist help they need.

Mr Straughan said: "This does beg some questions about whether services, as currently configured, are meeting the needs of this group of people."

Mark Lever, chief executive of the National Autistic Society, said: "The NAS has long campaigned to raise awareness of the fact that services and support for adults with autism are woefully inadequate.

"This study gives us further evidence to demand that more vital support is put in place."

First of all lil' miss know it all I never once said I was against vaccinations.....I said their possible side effects SCARE me. Both of my kids have had all of their vaccinations. Do I feel like wasting my energy to prove anything to you NO. I see both sides of it but it's only obvious there is a link between autism and vaccinations. THAT'S what I was saying. I believe that it's a double edged sword if you don't get your kids vaccinated they can possibly come down w/ a terrible disease if you do they could possibly come down w/ autism or fever and sickness.....or DEATH as it is stated on the pamplets they give you at the Dr.s office when you take your kids to get vaccinated!!
Don't jump to conclusions about me or what I think. You don't me and with your attitude I really don't care to know you.
thumbs up! Back at ya babe.
