What do you know about the greatest Romance?

These lyrics from Prince's, "The greatest romance that's ever been sold." question a mysterious answer.

"What do you know about the greatest romance? Not what U think but what U believe... Can U tell me the reason that Adam never left Eve?"

This Prince song beautifully appreciates Adam's love for Eve. I believe that Adam never left Eve because she is born of him.


This is a poem that I wrote about Adam finding Eve after the fall.
Adam & Evening

This sheet sexy and wet with salt and sweet
Made black and white and laced in racing stripe
Knows tears that run a long divided street
And taste of passion pear so apple ripe
“Shy tonight,” she whispers in bedroom white
Staring on mystery through stained glass eyes
Reaching for comfort his skin blanket tight
Fingers like ribbons his touch gently ties
“Mad tonight,” he whispers in lover red
Straight shooting eyes with his black arrow drawn
“Dearly beloved this night in our bed…
A husband come morning and stranger gone.”

Never no never again will she miss

It's one of the subjects of the novel I'm currently writing..

We don't know that he didn't beat her every day for eating of that apple.

how did the song become about adam and eve?

as egotistical as prince is, i am sure he is singing about himself

they aren't real so i don't know how it can be the greatest romance

but that wasn't my point. that song isn't about adam and eve. the adam and eve line is just an allusion to the genesis fable.
