Anyone have any prayer requests? (Not a debate thread) -- updated.

Hi, I know a lot of folks are going through some really tough times: losses of loved ones, sickness, job losses and cutbacks, losses of homes, unexpected financial crises, marital issues, relationship crises, stuff.

If you feel comfortable sharing your issues here or in an Orgnote, let this thread be devoted to people praying for themselves or each other.

Let me be clear. This is not a thread for engaging in debates about God, the utility of prayer or anything like that. You want to take pot-shots or to debate, take it elsewhere. Thanks.

I'll start: My father's got some health issues and has been in and out of (mostly in) the hospital for more than a month. I'm believing God will heal my dad (through his medical caregivers or miraculously, as I've seen done in the past). That said, I'm praying for his perseverance, as well as mine and my mother's in looking after his needs. So, I appreciate your prayers for his healing and our steadfastness. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen.

I'd request a common prayer for a friend and myself: Endurance, focus and encouragement for the respective tasks before us in a time of fatigue, distraction and disheartenment.

I hope your dad's health improves It is hard when we see our parents suffer. My mom has a genetic heart condition that required her to get a pacemaker/defibrillator at an early age. She is struggling with other health issues and having a hard time finding a dr that can help her.
So, I would like to have a prayer for her to give her strength and positive thoughts as she deals with the difficult health issues that she faces.
In a few weeks she is going to be leaving her comfort zone and doing something she never thought she would be doing. She is going to travel from the US to the UK to see the birth of her first and only grandchild.
I pray that she has a safe and uneventful flight here to see us.

For myself I ask that someone can pray for me that my request for residency visa will be approved, I will surmount my current tax difficulties, my health will remain stable, and that I will not waver from my path of faith while I am on this journey.

I send out my positive thoughts and prayers for all those who need them.
In late July I lost two of my dear uncles (my mom's last two living siblings) in a week's time span and my mom was in the hospital and now is in a skilled nursing facility. My car died last Monday and I had to pay quite a bit to get it running again. It's been a stressful time.

Thready, with my whole heart I wish you peace and blessings in this time of your life. I am thankful that you had the time with him and that he is at a peace we can only begin to glimpse in the grandest of imaginations.
