Tax revenues down--biggest drop since the great depression.

According to the Huffington Post tax revenues are going down drastically. So much for the idea that cutting taxes helps bring up tax revenues, which is a soul ideal of the idiotic Reagan era idea of Supply Side Economics. Then why dear Reagan cultists are the revenues going down so stiffly?

The story is still the cover story on the post, so no need to link to anything. Glowers at moderators. lol

We have to raise taxes folks, the only thing.

Shopping indepedently would help as well. More money will stay in communities, helping the tax rates shoot up.

They're down right now because Bush tanked the economy and put about 3 million people out of work last year.

But you are right - tax cuts ALWAYS cause decreased tax revenues. It's just common sense. I can provide all the back-up if anyone really wants it. But it took 5 years for tax collections to get back to pre-tax-cut levels after Reagan's cuts, and 4 years for them to get back after George W. Bush's cuts.

That's right...it's all Bush's fault. The banks, their enablers in congress for the past 15-18 years, Fannie & Freddie, Greenspan, et all had nothing to do with it.
So now what. Raise taxes even though most companies have declared a wage freeze, such as mine? That's what NYC sure did with the sales tax. Zero regard for the working man, as usual. When our local polticians aren't being courted off to prison, they're laughably trusted with spending my money wisely.
Look at Jersey. How many mayors and other politcos got indicted for bribes and stealing just last week? And these fuckers have the nerve raise local taxes as if they should be trusted?
Sorry, but no sale you little prison dwellers.
And now we have to foot the national health care bill for a bunch of obese diabetes-laden pigs who can't pull their food-spilling mouths away from the trough?
Watch out fatsoes. Revolution is coming. Payback's a bitch. razz

What do you expect when you live above you means as a nation for 8 years?

The federal government, the state governments, the local governments, the banks, most of the companies and the vast majority of the citizens just borrowed and borrowed for years and years, just to keep on pretending how wealthy and great you so called are. But it is all bullshit.

You can't lower taxes as much as Bush did and at the same time fight two costly wars, raise the defense budget and bail out banks, leading to more than 6 trillion dollars in more debt and record deficits. There comes a time when you have to reverse all that in order to shift off total bankruptcy.

Stupidity rules it seems. Only now people start to complain because now the pain is coming. And then the president trying to fix the mess is getting the blame. Bunch of spoiled, lazy, arrogant crybabies. You have had it coming.
