Decison On Vick Expected Next Week! Will the DOG KILLER be welcomed back to the NFL?

Should the Mike 'the Dog Killer' Vick get another chance in the NFL??

GUESS: Roger Goodell will say "YES" but suspend Vick for the start of the season.

I personally think that in lew of jail time he should have had all future wages docked to go to animal shelters and animal violence prevention training/seminars.

That would remind Him every time he got a paycheck what he had done.

"...I will go to the animal shelter and get you a kitty cat. I will let you fall in love...with that kitty cat. And then on some dark, cold night I will steal away into your home...and punch you in the face!"

It's not about money it's about talent.
He served his debt to society, so why can't he resume earning a living?

I agree with you. I actually don't think he should have gone to jail in the first place.

It could increase certain teams of winning and they will pick him up on the el-cheap-o. All about the cap. QB's are difficult to find. So what team is willing to take the backlash from the Lassie lovers, in order to increase chances of winning a SuperBlow? The Raiders?

I know considering we have a couple potential murders in the NFL! Seems like this will up his status. This guy killed puppies - I think his jersey will be a popular one.

No the Raiders have Garcia and McFadden. No place for him.
Michael Vick is not the hard to find prototypical quarterback.
It's about more than the cap. It's about winning. What does Vick even look like in pads? He may not even be effective this year, so what's the rush? He will also have to almost certainly serve a period of suspension which further reduces any potential value.
No team currently needs a QB that bad.

You think? Raider have history of picking up bad boys. Dallas tried but it seems to fail for them and they dumped all the bad eggs. Garcia is good but 39 years old?

I'm a Raider fan. No the Raiders do not need Vick and would not acquire Vick. He doesn't play QB the way Al Davis wants to see it.

Trent Edwards, Chad Pennington, Jason Campbell, Kyle Orton, Shaun Hill, JaMarcus Russell, Joe Flacco, Brady Quinn, Matt Schaub, Jake Delhomme, David Garrard, Josh Freeman, and Kerry Collins.

All starters and far less talent than Vick.

Josh Freeman? We'll see if he starts.
And we're talking current talent level. Vick is probably not starting material right now.

Can you imagine if Vick was a free agent when he was prime? Every team would be wanting him. It's true that many people love pet's more than most humans, so the stigma will follow him. He fucked it all up.

But Vick isnt in his prime. As a Bucs fan, there was rumble about picking him up and throw him on the roster and give him time to get back in shape. There was so much backlash from fans and call in from the radio, that story vanished in a week.Word is that Godell will let him back and do a four game suspension.

Apparently we here in Minnesota need a QB that bad. We, not me, are still holding our breathes hoping that a certain QB that wore #4 for a team that ryhmes with Backers, comes and plays for our Vikings.

Exactly. He didn't kill humans, he served his time, so PETA-types need to back the fuck up.

He has paid for his crime, and has the right to make a living in his chosen career as any ex convict. I do, however, believe he should make a public statement, and a commercial for PETA about the unethical treatment of animals.

That's adding insult to injury. Why should he be made to suffer more. He's already apologized publicly for his actions. Don't rub the man's nose in the dirt.

I didn't know he made a public apology already. In that case, he should be able to work.

True as that may be (I don't think he's fine as hell though . . . never really feeling him like that) how does that get the ball downfield?
It doesn't. Some nice guys, some gorgeous as all get out, but when I'm watching football . . . save all that for later. There are football players I have and have had crushes on but not in a game. Nothing like, say, Ice Cube in a movie . . .

Now this is why I don't take my wife to see the Vikings play. biggrin You ladies... biggrin

But on the real, I have no problem with Vick coming back to play in the NFL. There will be some fans and players that will welcome him, like myself, and others that will not welcome his return, which is cool. But the guy has done his time and he should be given another chance.
