Prince's stance on Politics

lately prince has been discussing politics. It appears that politics is slippery when talked about. But all that I can say is that we should pray for is our government. Sounds like we all have so much to say. when the best thing to do is pray.

You're free to pray if you want to, but I'd rather put my faith in action.

What the fuck is a horse anyways? It looks like a really deformed beaver. You should probably pay more attention to these types of things.

Well, prayer is pointless for starters: http://prince.org/msg/105/309124

Socondly, these days Princes' views on politics are at best simplistic and at worst, naive, uneducated and embarressing. I would advise you to look elsewhere for your political opinion.

I doubt that Prince is praying for the government. Well, maybe praying that Armageddon will come and destroy all the governments and turn all unbelievers into bird food.

This.

Prince is among those gleefully awaiting the end of the world instead of doing anything meaningful to repair it. For apocalyptists, the deterioration of our planet is good news, as it means a heavenly paradise is not far behind.

I'm with you on this. I hate when he speaks of politics. Because of his JW teachings, I find his politics laughable.

You can pay attention to what's going on in politics. And email/write/call your reps to make your voice heard.

thumbs up! This is so true -- especially when legislators' voting records are so often distorted during campaign season. Now's the best time to familiarize yourself with their voting habits. nod

Yeah, I know he says he doesn't. I'd love to hear him talk about that in detail.

Ask Serena & Venus Williams and Michael Jackson as they don't vote either. It's a religious thing, leave them be.

Prince is all about immanentizing the eschaton.

Obama and his ilk are, too. The only difference is that the former believes in it from a religious perspective and the latter thinks it's government's job to do it.

I was watching the video on Travis Smiley and heard Prince talking about why he did not vote. He said he did not mind criticism as long as you said why. I do not believe in the Jehovah Witness because I think it takes a lot of your rights away. If you are sick you can not get a blood transfusion that may save your life. I will not let anyone tell me to not to do something in order to live a longer life. I had an aunt that died because she refused. It was a shame because she left her children here to defend themselves without a mother. I vote because the black race went through so much to be able to have the same rights. I will not let a religion tell me what I can or can not do. The bible is a book that takes spiritual guidance in order to understand. You can find a verse in the bible that states to pray in the closet and I had a friend that always prayed in the closet. That scripture means not to pray like the hypocrites did where people can praise you for all your fancy words. You can pray to God as a child and he will respect it just as well as someone using intelligent words. You do not have to impress God for him to hear you. Just my thought about the situation.

Pray first, then prayer leads to the right action.
