Do u know a banker who is getting a big bonus? Bankers in the US, UK and throughout the world are getting big bonuses which literally are being paid by the ordinary tax payer. Personally i would rather spend the money on building good schools, hospitals or beautiful parks.

Do you know a banker who is getting a big bonus? If so what type of person are they? Good people are losing jobs and homes, while sound businesses crumble. All because of their actions. Are these people embarrassed about whats going on? First of all, its fair to point out that a significant proportion of banks paying bonuses have not received a penny of government money. Secondly, a lot of the bankers receving boneses (in fact the vast majority) do not work for the structured finance departments responsible for these losses, and so have no direct responsibility whatsoever for all these "good people" (gotta love the implicit implication that non-banker = "good", banker = "bad") losing their jobs and homes. I know a few guys who have received bonuses this year yes, although none working in structured finance departments. The few people I did know in that area are now out of work or are likely to be soon. None of them received any bonus, since their department lost money. In fact the only strucutred finance bonuses I have heard of are those few at AIG who had contractually guaranteed agreements. What type of people are the guys I know who got bonuses? What are you expecting me to say? That they're all actually giant mutant killer evil lizards concealed under a disguise of human skin? They are all normal, decent people. Mostly family people trying to make the best living they can. Other words that spring to mind are funny, bright, energetic, generous. How are they feeling? The ones I know are worried like everyone else that the current environment will put them out of a job and put friends and family at risk also. I'm sure there are some assholes who work in their organisations also, that might better fit your your naive stereotype. But assholes are everywhere. Or can we also say that all teachers are lazy? Or all policemen are racist? etc etc. Poor thread. (i'm talking of someone with / desiring a senior banking role - not the pawns in the pyramid to which you refer). Do they really consider obtaining personal wealth of more importance than anything else? If so, would you consider that 'coldness' akin to a psychopathic killers' feelings' for their victim? I work for an executive search firm ('head hunter') and I see greedyness around me all day - and not with bankers only. Some already extremely rich people want to be reimbursed for 20 cents for a parking spot for 2 minutes or 30 cents for a banana. A full agenda needs to be rescheduled if they need to try a new lease car and when their 2nd or 3rd boat is being built all systems go.
Your mind won't be the only thing I blow.... | |
