Why Do They Keep Ringing My Doorbell? I have had my doorbell rang once to twice a week during the morning or afternoon. Not the same Jehovah's Witnesses every time. I don't answer my door but they still keep trying.

Ok, look..... I respect all religions no matter if it's Jehovah, Allah or Budda. So please, and hopefully someone who is a JW on the org can explain why, why does the continuous door bell ringing persist??? Do they keep ringing door bells of people who have not answered their doors or do they give up and talk to those who wish to listen? They're trying to get as many converts as possible. Otherwise they may not go to Paradise....

answer the door holding a little notepad and tell them you don't have time to talk but if they give you their address, you'll be happy to drop by their houses unannounced at an inopportune time. |

Call the local Kingdom Hall (it's listed in the phone book) and tell them you want to be on the their list of people not to visit. Sometimes this works.

If Prince came to my door, I'd do the same thing I've done with any other person who came knocking on my door wanting to tell me about the Paradise that no one is guaranteed they'll enter. Offer him real salvation that comes through Jesus.

Oh, okay...but I know from experience... It's true. They have to make enough converts. (Not a certain number that I know of. But "enough") If they don't God MAY not let them into Paradise. Only 144,000 are allowed. Seriously.

I was a JW for over 20 years. The preaching work is the most important thing we did. If there is even an inkling of interest or conversation from the person that answers the door, we would keep going back. My grandmother, who was crippled, would take the phone book and just start calling strange people until she found anyone who wanted to talk about God's kingdom. I'm not sure if they still "count time" but we used to have to keep track of all the hours we went out preaching door to door, talking to people on street-corners, and phone calling. If we didn't make our quota, we weren't doing all we could to serve Jehovah. I wonder if they count Internet preaching now? i edit [Edited 10/9/08 20:44pm] Racism is like an insidious virus, that no one has a cure for and can't be seen.....it just keeps reinfecting the weakest minds...

If they think the "end" is coming soon, they step up the preaching work anyway. Only 144,000 are allowed. Seriously. Wrong. Try again. JW's believe that 144,000 are chosen to live in heaven, while all other people will live in an eternal paradise here on Earth if they follow Jehovah's laws, have a good heart, and try to convert people to the religion in order to save them. I don't believe in any of it, mind you, but get your facts straight. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Hoimageatall is correct, you can call or write your nearest Kingdom Hal and they will place you on their no call list. That should keep them away for a year or more. They will come back to see if you've changed your mind or have moved or whatever but not frequently.

Beverly my love, they want cold hard cash; they use that in court cases to fight for their religious freedom. Odd, since they don't believe in voting. They have a lavish lifestyle and they make a mint duping the general public. Next time they come, just tell them not to come over again because you believe in a different belief and to respect that. If not, turn the hose on them.

The sad fact is that many blacks are in the witnesses, even though they started out as a racist organization. Most rank and file Witnesses are pwople of very modest means. The average JW is encouraged to not get educated and to spend their youth slaving for the WTS. There are a lot of Witnesses facing retirement age who did not plan to grow old on this side of Armageddon and have no adequate means of supporting themselves in retirement. There was just a massive layoff of older "volunteer" Bethelites who do not even have social security to fall back on. But the ones at the top live very lavishly indeed, even into their extreme old age. Men are from earth. Women are from earth. Deal with it.

I dont understand how Jehovah's Witnesses even use the Watchtower as a base for adding or taking away from what the true Bible is saying. Its not like its just a book to help explain the Word of God...it has its own sets of rules and stuff.

Oh wow...that may take all night. I think one of the most compelling reasons was watching my friend's father die in front of me for refusing an organ transplant. And then a few years later, they changed the "rules" so that he died for no reason. He left 4 daughters and a son. I've researched the blood issue and found so many flaws in the logic and scripture interpretation it's not even funny. And it's not funny, as many children are sacrificed each day for this man-made "rule." Then my friend was molested by an elder in the congregation, and they blamed her. I saw rules bent for certain people, and a lot of hypocrisy. The final straw was my sister's suicide (that stemmed from all the physical abuse we suffered as children), and my mother's behavior after her death (She's a lifelong JW). I could go on, but this should suffice. Racism is like an insidious virus, that no one has a cure for and can't be seen.....it just keeps reinfecting the weakest minds...

Revelations 22:18-19: "I warn everyone who hears the prophetic words in this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words in this prophetic book, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city described in this book." I dont like when people say that JWs are Christian because its not like its even a different denomination...they are totally set a part based on their beliefs, rules, etc. : http://www.godandscience....wdiff.html I like this site because they have Biblical backup...they dont have to look in a Watchtower...its right in the Bible. hi there. the Watchtower is not part of the bible nor adds to it, it's a separate thing altogether. all it is is a magazine with articles in it with biblical topics that you can reference with your bible. for example, if the article is speaking about marriage, the principles that it is based on the scriptures will reflect that, and reference that scripture for the reader to look up. the purpose of the Watchtower (the magazine) is also stated in the beginning part of the magazine which says: the purpose of this magazine is to honor Jehovah God, the supreme ruler of the universe. just as watchtowers in ancient times enabled a person to observe developments from afar, so this magazine shows us the significance of world events in the light of bible prophecies. it comforts people with the good news that God's Kingdom, which is a real government in heaven, will soon bring an end to all wickedness and transform the earth into a paradise. it promotes faith in Jesus Christ, who died so that we might gain everlasting life and who is now rulig as King of God's Kingdom. this magazine has been published by Jehovah's Witnesses continuously since 1879 and is nonpolitical. it adheres to the bible as its authority. as far as being Christians, JWs are Christian because they are footstep followers of Christ. we follow his lead where he says to take the message of the good news about the kingdom to the people from house to house. this is what Jesus did and instructed his followers to do. hope this helps with your understanding about the witnesses.
