Why McCain's age matters more than ever.

In the last 100 years, 5 Vice Presidents have had to step in as President due to circumstances other than a normal election process:

  • Theodore Roosevelt when William McKinley was assassinated.
  • Calvin Coolidge when Warren Harding died.
  • Harry Truman when Franklin D. Roosevelt died.
  • Lyndon B. Johnson when JFK was assassinated
  • Gerald Ford when Nixon resigned.

In that timeframe, these 5 make up 20% of the presidency as, including them, there were 20 presidents in that period of time.

Also, McCain has a 33% chance that he will not make it to his 80th birthday.

Statistically there is a really good chance of Sarah Palin becoming president. The country should risk this all because McCain had to pander to a special interest group in order to make religious voters more comfortable voting in this election?

Her religious views qualify her to deal with Al Qaeda how?. Her religious views qualify her to deal with Iran how? Her religious views qualify her to deal with the Mideast Peace process how? Her religious views qualify her to deal with a failing economy how?

It's an irresponsible and wreckless decision nominating Sarah Palin. Death might invite her into the Oval Office and America can't take that chance with it's safety.

They've been missing in practically every thread. I know they are afraid but Obama's tent is very large and we all welcome them to come aboard! smile

Shouldn't the fact that he's Republican be reason enough not to vote for him?

Many on the religious right would LOVE to see someone like her become President. They are not thinking of National Security, they are thinking of Roe vs Wade.

Yet the majority of people in this country want abortion to remain legalized.

And the Supreme Court wouldn't matter if by their account we are "fighting terrorist here" instead of fighting them overseas.
