Know what REALLY upsets me about Babygate?

There were several ways she could have addressed the "Who is Trig's mother?" situation. She could have:

1. Produced Trig's birth certificate, showing who the parents are;
2. Produced the delivering doctor, who could have definitively said Sarah was the mother;
3. Produced the delivering nurse(s), who could have said the same;
4. Produced her medical records, showing examinations from her pregnancy.

All of these would have left her daughter's current pregnancy a private matter.

Yet, she and McCain CHOSE to reveal Bristol's pregnancy for the sole reason to combat the Trig rumors. And let there be no doubt - it was McCain and Palin that released the news of Bristol's pregnancy. NO "libs" knew about it.

Basically, Palin threw her daughter in the grease so that she could keep her medical records private.

That is poor judgment and HORRIBLE mothering.

NOTE: Here is McCain's spokesperson confirming it was Palin and McCain that revealed Bristol's pregnancy:

Nicolle Wallace, a senior McCain adviser, told ABC's "Good Morning America" on Tuesday that Palin disclosed her daughter's pregnancy during the vetting process, and that the McCain campaign had been forced to reveal the pregnancy publicly Monday because of "lewd and outrageously false rumors" spread by "Democratic-leaning blogs and a few in the mainstream" media. She did not identify them.

eek

I feel so bad for that girl, first she finds out she's pregnant, then she has to tell her mother, who is the governor!

THEN her mother tells THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!

poor baby sad

BUT
I do agree we need to leave this alone, and concentrate on bigger issues of the campaign ( what the hell is her fiscal policy?). This is yet another distraction rolleyes

I am so tired, I'll be glad when this is over.

This is a disgusting set of affairs, and the more I think about it, the madder I get.

Sarah Palin threw her own daughter in the grease. Unbelievable.

The McCain campaign says they were "forced" to reveal Bristol's pregnancy. Force by who????? Utter BULLSHIT. Sarah Palin is a disgrace as a mother, IMHO.

Can you imagine doing this to YOUR child?

And think it through: If the Democrats/"libs" had revealed Bristol's pregnancy, the McCain/Palin campaign would have been fully correct to condemn that and to paint those that leaked the story as vile humans.

But they didn't do that. THEY revealed the pregnancy, and the worst part is THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO.

Palin had many other ways to address the "Trig's mother" BS.

I wouldn't vote for Sarah Palin under any circumstance. This is absolutely the lowest thing I have ever seen a parent do.

it's pretty disgusting.

granted i am not a parent, but i would never EVER choose to subjet my children to this. i would never leave a newborn to run off and try to get a job, let alone a newborn with special needs. i would never be able to throw my children under a bus for political gain... or any kind of gain for that matter.

30 Palins agree...

What about the baby's father? Maybe he doesn't want to get married, but now he is in this position of getting married. In a way.. this is a very passive-aggressive "shot-gun" wedding!

And now, I read the baby's father and her daughter will be appearing tonight?

Why... so Palin (and the rest of the Republicans) can parade them around?

I'm glad I'm a tennis fan and Rafa Nadal is playing tonight at the open! I think the Williams' sisters are playing, too!

And before everybody jumps on my case for NOT watching this woman: I don't care is she is Mother Theresa incarnate, I will not be voting Republican. In fact, it's the Democratic all the way for me, so I'd rather watch tennis. I cannot wait to vote all Democratic! It will be so much fun. Just one selection for the entire party, cast ballot, and it's done.

Besides, I'm sure Palin's speech will be all over the news and the internet tomorrow!

Oh, come on. The girl is 5 months pregnant. How much of a shelf life do you think that secret (which, by all accounts, wasn't really a secret) had, anyway?

What should they have done? Locked her away somewhere so know one would know? (Like people wouldn't ask, "Where's Bristol?") Treated her like her choice (to bear and keep her child, while marrying the baby's father) is something to be ashamed of?

Or should they have forced her to have an abortion to spare everyone the "shame?"

That deals with children. I am not aware of any political party that presumes to tell adults that they should/should not engage in sex.

It might come as a shock to you but your president supports abstienence only and your party has assaulted sex education and foreign funding that dares to include reality based policies when it comes to reproductive health. Your party has a clear track record when it comes to this and you know it.

You don't pay attention then. Republicans advocate for abstinence for adults as well. You don't even know your own party and I find that really hard to believe. Games.

As I said earlier, abstinence-only deals with children. Not all Republicans agree with that approach, either.

Well the Republicans that don't agree with that approach aren't running the show are they?

Condoms is something as opposed to wishful thinking, which we can see in this instance with Bristol Palin, doesn't work!

Exactly right!!! She has THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE thanks to the Democratic Party. I don't agree with the concept of abortion either but I do whole-heartedly believe that it's the woman's RIGHT TO CHOOSE what should happen.

There is also no requirement for her to marry. Unless, of course, you toe the party line for the GOP which clearly states in it's platform that they support and encourage a two parent household made up of a man & a woman.

It's practically a footnote that they begrudgingly accept single family households as well...*murmur, murmur*

You know what? Her husband is staying home with the kids, right?

It has nothing to do with her having 5 kids or whatever..

It has everything to do with her "beliefs," and not agreeing with her.

Plus.. I am sorry..

Doesn't anyone in this world value education anymore???? Barack Obama has a law degree from Harvard.. taught constitutional law.. In most other situations, this accomplishment would be admired.

Why isn't his educational background ever brought up?? Why is always about McCain's military experience?

As far as Palin.. she may have been mayor.. She may be governor, but what about her "understanding" of the constitution and social issue? Obama may not have been a mayor or governor, but Obama is highly educated. In any other profession--most other professions.. we look at education... oh but not for President of the U.S.

I value experience, too,.. I value both. But what about education? This woman has a degree in communications and minor in poli-sci.

I dunno. It just makes me so mad. mad

Hmm, I happen to agree with that sentiment... there will only ever be ONE Watergate so there's really no point in diluting the term...

I have NO problem with a Woman being president or a Woman with children. What concerns me is the age of said children...

I can't see the Leader of the Free World changing diapers and the like while still capably running the Nation in our best interests. I also wouldn't want our Lady President to feel the need for having the child raised by a Nanny... This goes for either side of the aisle too... don't get it twisted...

I read Palin's husband has been taking care of the kids. He left his job, so now he is the stay at home parent? There is nothing wrong with this.

However, I do think it speaks volumes that two teenagers are being put into the position of marrying each other to satisfy the "party," or this is what it looks like.

I wonder what would have happened if the guy refused to marry her.. Well, how is he going to refuse to marry the governor's daughter?

And don't start telling me he's doing the right thing. Oh please.. The whole scenario sounds very suspect to me.

I could not do it. But.. I have to allow other women this choice because maybe they are in dire circumstances? Sooo..

But the Dems never explain this.. Why don't they explain this??
