is McCain throwing the race?

this is crazy - after all the wild news about Palin (including the latest, saying that she used to belong to an Alaskan secession party eek ), the Republican party is NOW sending a team of 10 lawyers to Alaska to look into things:

http://thepage.time.com/2...-answered/

call me a nut, but could it be that McCain either:

a) is turning into some sort of fruit loop all of a sudden, or
b) is purposely throwing the race. maybe because he didn't get Lieberman as VP, or god knows why.

this is one of the craziest chain of events i've ever seen in politics!

shrug could be. looks like W has undercut him on Iraq lately - who knows what's been going on behind the scenes.

as much as i would love to gloat... biggrin ... it's almost beyond comedy.

there was an interview with McCain in the latest TIME magazine, where he came off as abrasive and pissy. after all these years, and with a close race, why would he be doing this?

I would not be surprised if Sarah Palin drops out before Wednesday, and Joe Lieberman is the VP candidate.

I don't know what to think, I just know something isn't quite right!

McCain and Palin are supposed to accept their nominations Wednesday and Thursday and they're "scheduled" to be in the Detroit area for a rally on Friday. So we'll see!

All i can say is that the Dems need to watch out, lets face it, they are the kings of BLOWING IT, they are the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Braves and Minnesota Vikings all rolled up into one. PALIN is a set-up, if the dems attack her on anything family related, they will LOSE this election, lets remember this is going to come down to race, america may think its not, but its gonna be all about sex and race. If they attack her and even touch this "daughter" issue, they will be finished in a heartbeat, because the VALUES people will come out and just vote against "the black guy" who attacked the white female with a pregnant daughter and a down syndrome child.

Look for a scenario to unfold where around the end of Oct. McCain has a massive stroke or heart attack and Bush claims executive power to suspend and postpone the election out of "fairness to the Republican Party"who will need to seriously regroup.

Then when it becomes obvious that there's no real regrouping taking place and Bush has essentially maneuvered himself into the position as King we the people will start to make some serious noise and protests but a state of emergency will be claimed and the constitution suspended.

Then you will see all these Blackwater built detention camps ariund the country (ostensibly created for rounding up illegal aliens) filled with the disobediant among the citizenry.

This could happen.

The other less radical scenario has Jeb step in for the stricken McCain and the voting machines doctored agasin to insure the win. It's all in the family. Bush, Cheney and the other neocon slugs need to make sure the Rethugnicans keep power so they won't be tried for treason and war crimes by Waxman and Conyers after they're out.

well, Obama has already made it clear where he stands. i'm sure he knows that this is a touchy subject.

there are plenty more issues here, most of all, McCain's lack of judgment and apparent lack of vetting of the VP.

if we underestimate the Republican party, we're in big, big trouble. I predicted that McCain would pick a woman for VP. I knew he had to do it to balance out all that has gone on in the Democratic primary. I do think he is clutching at straws with Palin though.

But if Al Gore can get booted from a presidency that he legitimately won. If George W. Bush can get re-elected for a second term in 2004...

I've seen much stranger things than this. Just crossing my fingers that it backfires on them.

The Dems have been way smart on this. Obama will not attack her and biden is not falling for attacks on him, either. I hope they can keep it up for a few months.
