Why is dishonesty in politics okay?

i was talking to a close friend last night. We were discussing the flipflooping candidates do. For instance, Hillary thought Obama wasn't ready and now miraculously, she does. Which was the truth? My friend just said it's just how things are. He said she wasn't lying but just saying what she had to say.

It's called campaigning. But I look forward to the day when we have leaders on our side that aint gonna play any of the bullshit and just stay strong and stick to their beliefs without being afraid what the voters are going to think.

I think in her instance, she knew he was more than capable but did not want anyone to vote for him...so she made up a bunch of stuff.

It is all a game.

It isn't.

it's not ok. but the guys who tell the truth don't get support. the public likes to live in a make believe world of fairy tales.
