Can't you feel the buzz over McCain's VP selection?

LOL, neither can I.

It appears the McCain campaign made a big mistake with that. Their hope was to counter any post-convention bounce for Obama.

I get that, but the way they set it up, no one that McCain is trying to target is going to be anticipating it at all.

You can bet that the lead on Friday morning news shows is going to be Obama's speech - NOT the fact that McCain is announcing his VP pick.

This is going to either be an Obama Referendum OR a Bush Referendum. McCain and his running mate are two of the least relevant factors at issue.

so you do this to yourself in the mornings, too, huh? lol i have yet to figure out what Mika's role is in this testosterone pool. none of her comments are taken seriously. there for a while, i swear that the producers told her to always lean into Joe when he's talking - what's up with that?

I have a different take. Scarborough is basically Matthews' alter ego. Everybody knows he's an R, but he calls it fairly for a Gingrich Revolution Republican. I also think Mika "centers" the show.

"she turned me into a newt. confused i got better..." (sorry, couldn't resist)

i don't always disagree with his points, but i wish they had a more substantive co-host - Mika and Willie only seem to be there to boost Joe's ego. i'd like to see him go head-to-head with Rachel Maddow - now there would be an interesting discussion.

In reality the Grand Old Party is the favorite to take the White House.

Yeah, I do. It is kind of fun. I need a good laugh in the mornings. As for Mika. I think that she is there for eye candy.

McCain doesn't need any buzz just a safe, solid pick which is what he's going to make. Look at what the "buzz" did for Obama's VP pick: a DROP in the polls. Yeah, that was a text book buzz bounce, alright. Good job, Camp Obama.

What's more, Obama just handed them a gift with his Greek stage set up. I mean, how stupid are democrats? They continually play into the hands of the republicans and it's why they never, ever win.

All McCain has to do is let Obama and the dems keep shooting themselves in the foot, maintain his current pace, and bam, he's your next President.

Whatever. Don't hate, playa biggrin

Dude, there are like 20 different polls out right now and Obama is leading in all but 1 or 2. The only poll I am looking forward to is the one in November.

Say what you want about Wall's rant about the stage (which ignores the incumbent's similarly "regal" stage at the 2004 RNC convention, replete with a co-opting of the presidential seal for partisan purposes), the premise of the post is correct. The GOP has the upper hand in this election, because the Dems are asking a lot of the American people. To change the policies of the executive branch, the politics of the executive branch, and most of all, the complexion of the executive branch. At the same time.

Some of this side stuff is just conservatives' disdain for the Dems' "uppity" candidate for having the nerve to try to appear presidential while running for president.

And I'm not suggesting it's never been in the back-drop of previous candidates, republican or democrat, just that it's unbelievable the democrats wouldn't immediately realize after it was pitched what a terrible idea it would be to have Obama on such a stage. I don't see anything wrong with casting yourself against a backdrop of the Greeks, but to not know how hammered you're going to get for doing such reeks of incompetence. Karl Rove must be drooling, wishing he was the prime advisor to McCain. He'd have them up by 10 points minimum.
