I'm not voting for Obama because of who his Running Mate will be.

If he chooses a "conservative Democrat" like Jim Webb, I'd be perfectly fine with it.

It looks like he's picking Biden, though. Although, those reports can be false.

It wouldn't be as bad for Barack as it would be if McCain picked a pro-choice running mate.

The wolves are already starting to circle around McCain if he picks someone pro-choice.

I would, without any hesitation. I am a Democrat. No 3rd Party options here.

this election i would. if obama is elected this year and i feel like i can afford to be more idealistic with my vote in the next election, i might vote third party if i felt too strongly that obama and/or his running mate were "bush administration lite".

I'd probably would vote for him no matter who he picked as VP. I would hope that he would not pick a conservative Democrat though.

Obama IS a conservative Democrat. In fact, Democrats are the most conservative of the two parties.

Problem is, the definition of "conservative" has been convoluted by Rush Limbaugh and his ilk.

Democrats haven't been conservative since 1928. they jumped on the liberal bandwagon when Howard Taft and his Depression-riddled administration couldn't pay for the black folks who's homes were destroyed in New Orleans. After floods when the elite of the city decided to break the levy, and flood the two poorest districts of the city. I guess you're right though- most Klan members are Democrats

William Howard Taft was president from 1909 - 1913. The Depression began in 1929.

Name one "liberal" program the Republicans eliminated - or hell, even shrunk - while holding power over all three branches of government for six years.

And while you're thinking about it, here are some fiscal facts for you to chew on:

COMPARISON OF FEDERAL DEBT AND GDP GROWTH FOR PRESIDENTIAL ADMINISTRATIONS, 1978 - 2005

FEDERAL SPENDING GROWTH
Democratic Presidents - 9.9%
Republican Presidents - 12.1%

FEDERAL DEBT GROWTH
Democratic Presidents - 4.2%
Republican Presidents - 36.4%

GDP GROWTH
Democratic Presidents - 12.6%
Republican Presidents - 10.7%
