Bush says Russia risks it's relations with U.S. and Europe

Bush Says Russia Risks Its ‘Relations’ With U.S. and Europe
Monday, August 11, 2008
By Staff

President George W. Bush(CNSNews.com) - In a statement delivered in the White House Rose Garden Monday evening, President Bush warned that Russia is risking its “relations” with the United States and Europe if it persists in its invasion of Georgia.

“I am deeply concerned by reports that Russian troops have moved beyond the zone of conflict, attacked the Georgian town of Gori, and are threatening the Georgia's – Georgia's capital of Tbilisi,” said Bush. “There's evidence that Russian forces may soon begin bombing the civilian airport in the capital city.”

Bush said he believes the Russians may be attempting to topple Georgia’s democratic government.

“Russia has invaded a sovereign neighboring state and threatens a democratic government elected by its people. Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century,” said Bush.

The president, however, did not threaten Russia with any specific sanction if it continues in the action, only stating that such a course would “jeopardize” Russia’s relations with the West.

“Russia's government must respect Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Bush said. ”The Russian government must reverse the course it appears to be on, and accept this peace agreement as a first step toward resolving this conflict.

“Russia's actions this week have raised serious questions about its intentions in Georgia and the region,” the president said. “These actions have substantially damaged Russia's standing in the world. And these actions jeopardize Russians' relations – Russia's relations with the United States and Europe. It is time for Russia to be true to its word and to act to end this crisis

Again, doesn't it seem odd that Bush is trying to tell Russia not to invade a country and topple their government. Bush must have forgot about Iraq.

And he most have forgotten that Europe really doesn't want to be associated with him nor with his war crimes.

I love how Bush seems to think Europe is a subsiduary of America. He had the same attitude a couple of years ago, when he said something like 'Europe is no longer a one religion club' and that Turkey should be allowed to join the EU.

Goddammit, we may be a lot less powerful than you, but we are still not annexed to the US and we still get to decide who we want to be friends with without your input! lol
