Christians demand removal of 'satanic' 10 Commandments

'American Stonehenge' monument draws occult, pagan worshipers

A Christian organization is pressuring the community of Elberton, Ga., to tear down a massive, granite monument that lists an alternative set of Ten Commandments that the organization labels satanic.

The monument, known as the Georgia Guidestones, was built under a cloud of mystery in 1980. It lists 10 commandments in eight different languages, including a call to establish a new world language, limit human population to 500 million and avoid being "a cancer on the Earth."

"We have atheists and Satanists getting the Bible's Ten Commandments removed from public property," said Mark Dice, spokesman for the group The Resistance, "yet the satanic Georgia Guidestones have stood for decades, and nobody seems to care. Well, we do."

Comparing the monument's command to "maintain humanity under 500 million in perpetual balance with nature" with an estimated world's population of over 6 billion, Dice told WND, "Regardless of anyone's religion, I think they would find it objectionable that there's this monument that calls for the elimination of over 90 percent of the world's population."

defending free speech/press/religion rights by protesting against others' use of these rights? sounds like something liberals would do. how ironic, eh?

After reading those "satanic" 10 commandments, I now believe that Mark Dice is the REAL satanic one here. How anyone with an iota of reason could see those as being "evil" or "satanic" is beyond me. I guess you see what you want to see. shrug

The christians are just jealous that this 1980 religion displays more sense and reason than their own.

im confused as to what the problem is?
its not constructed on government property, say like a court house or town hall, right?
if this is the case and people want it tore down anyway, they need to start by eliminating all churches, synagogues, masonic temples etc. that command prime locations and special attention in every small town and large city across the nation. And knowck it off with the church bells sirening across the city for all occasions and non occasions.

Frightening that any Christian would deem any of those things Satanic.

If it's on public-owned property, maintained with tax dollars, absolutely tear it down.

Also, tear down any Judeo-Christian ten commandments on any publc property.

If it's a privately held piece of land, then they can do what they wish.

I don't even see the grey area on this issue.

I'm only in it for the music.

I am confused.... confuse

Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.

Guide reproduction wisely – improving fitness and diversity.

Unite humanity with a living new language.

Rule passion – faith – tradition – and all things with tempered reason.

Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.

Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.

Avoid petty laws and useless officials. (AMEN!!)

Balance personal rights with social duties.

Prize truth – beauty – love – seeking harmony with the infinite.

Be not a cancer on the Earth – leave room for nature – leave room for nature.

I don't see anything wrong with any of these. Therefore, I must be a Satanist. cool

The article states...

This is crazy logic. I don't believe this "commandment" means "killing" people, but being sensible about reproduction and reducing the population. There are people right here on this board who pray for the day when most of the world's "evil" population will be destroyed. Christians have launched wars and most Christian religions preach about people being "destroyed." Quite a difference...

As a Christian....this erks me on 2 levels.

1. Christians need to afford those rights to others that we expect. I think people getting whiny over the Ten Commmandments in public is childish and ridiculous. I feel the same way about Chrisitans whining about this. Only difference would be that the 10 Commandments were considered/recognized when our early governement was being developed.

2. Where is the ACLU on this one? I bet they won't be anywhere to be found....of course, they could surprise me, so we'll see.

lol 500,000,000? that's perpetual balance? not 500,000,001? not a billion or two? where the flock did "they" come up with that number? aw heck. why not just come out and be serious?

calling margaret sanger. calling margaret sanger.

Unite humanity with a living new language.

oh no! xenophobia!

how about Newspeak?

Rule passion – faith – tradition – and all things with tempered reason.

as opposed to the advice which would say to rule things with untempered reason.
now that's insightful.

Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.

damn. this just turns on its its head the conventional wisdom to protect people and nations with unfair and unjust courts.

Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.

yay! how encouraging to see that the new world order has been striving for so long to establish itself. it ain't no quitter!

Avoid petty laws and [i]useless officials.

see, now this had to be revelation. who would have thought that useless and petty laws were to be avoided? i thought useless laws were useful.

Balance personal rights with social duties.

who ever thinks that they have the wrong balance?
is every commandment here analytic, or what?

it would be better to just tell me just one social duty, or even just one personal right. c'mon, risk something other than saying that 90% of the human population doesn't belong here.

Prize truth – beauty – love – seeking harmony with the infinite.

doesn't anyone just call whatever they prize truth, beauty and/or love?
or in other words, what does this do to place any obstacle or challenge to that? it doesn't.

Be not a cancer on the Earth – leave room for nature – leave room for nature.
[/b]

crap. there i was plodding along on this planet thinking that being a cancer was just fine.
wisdom, boy. sometimes it just hits you upside the head, reminding you of God's moral claim upon you.
