Michigan Same Sex Marriage & Adoption...would u vote for it?

Michigan has voted against gay marriage (civil unions) once before, do you think anything has changed in the last 4-8 years now that would allow you to have changed your mind, if you voted against it back then and if you decided to support it, would you be for same sex couples adopting children who need a loving home life with a stable same sex family?

Thoughts?

What reason could there be to vote against it?

Meanwhile, civic knowledge is enhanced by discussing public affairs, taking part in civic activities and reading about current events and history, the group said.

Well I support any and all responsible adults that want to or feel the love inside them to raise a child. Something is going to have to be done for those couples and those families to be protected under the law (ie insurance and death benefits and all that good stuff)

Its really just a matter of people being more aware of the finer nuiances of the argument. For starters there are plenty of gay people raising perfectly normal well adjusted responsible children. So there isn't a sane argument against that.

Florida does not allow it and I think it was ridiculous.
Instead they had thousands and thousands of children in the foster care system waiting for good homes. They were being shifted from home to home, getting lost in the system and many were being abused in the foster care system.
They found that many of the ppl in Florida that were getting paid to foster children were fostering so many that they could not properly care for them. They were doing it just for the money.
MANY were abused (sexually, mentally, and physically).
How in the hell can you have a law that does not allow gays/lesbians to adopt when you have so many children waiting for good homes out there?
I do not get it.

fine, i'm not saying otherwise.
just so long as we recognize that this issue is a matter of changing a definition, changing an institution, not a matter of permitting/not permitting.

never in its fundamental definition as a union of the sexes, of being between a man and woman.

the definition does not change as men and women still will be able to get "married".

WellInever

Even in Greek culture there was no same sex marriage. Plato had his lovers but would not have suggested getting married to one.

So there is a pro-gay yet anti-gay marriage history that has nothing to do with the Bible.

because you coudln't produce an heir in gay marriage. it's all about property.

i support same sex marriage laws. imo, love cam come in many different forms. it's not important what form love takes as long as it is love.

besides, it is usually religious doctrine that tells us whether or not the different forms of carnal and spiritual love are 'morally correct', as well as cultural/social doctrines which dictate how that plays itself out in a group situation.

since we are guaranteed separation of the church and state, and because different cultural practices mean there is no such thing as 'normal', marriage benefits/legislation should be an option for everyone.
