Fortunately the pedestrian was okay. This is exactly why a lot of states have special restrictions on people over a certain age when it comes to driver's licenses and such. I think in Arizona, for example, after 65 you need to take a test again or something. To be fair to Novak, I bet that DC traffic is crazy! That's a pressure cooker of a city! okay okay we get it! mccain is an old fart!!!!!

DC traffic is hard to manage for twentysomethings, much less seventysomethings. In some ways, with all of the roundabouts, it is tougher than even NYC traffic. In 2001, he cursed at a pedestrian on the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 13th streets Northwest for allegedly jaywalking.

almost every day during my commute i am forced to deal with moron pedestrians who refuse to yield the right of way. i'm talking about businessmen who saunter right out into traffic, against the light with no right of way who refuse to back up or stop when a car comes along. what's up with that? are we entering a new age of "so what are you gonna do about it" bad behavior?? I would think and hope not but let's be honest here, that has been working for the Bush Administration for years now, so I just don't know. If you're sick of being bullied or watching others get bullied, STAND UP AND SAY SO on November 4th!

I would think and hope not but let's be honest here, that has been working for the Bush Administration for years now, so I just don't know. really though, i've seen some of the worst behavior by pedestrians downtown here in minneapolis. the problem is so bad they have even begun using live traffic cops at the busiest intersections. i witnessed an incident where the traffic cop blew her whistle the second the green walk light turned into a flashing 'don't walk' red hand, and a moron pedestrian just kept on walking. she waved at him, addressed him directly, pointed to the flashing 'don't walk' sign and shouted 'what does that say?" he ignored her and kept walking. it likely seems not a big deal but when pedestrians just keeping flooding the intersections, gridlock results, which causes bad tempered drivers in a big way. WHY can't people just FOLLOW THE RULES*???? sorry for shouting. tough morning commute involving idiot, asshole pedestrians.

now, i promise i won't do it in MPLS - pinky swear! lol@pinky swear i'm not talking about crossing when there is no oncoming traffic, or conflict of interest, i'm referring to the blatant disregard for the law some jaywalkers show when venturing out in front of oncoming traffic, on a red light. i would be willing to bet you aren't the latter.

AND I like to set up my workstation, computer and all, right smack dab in the middle of a busy street, during morning rush hour. The flow of traffic helps me concentrate on my work. I really recommend this approach.
