JOHN 15:19 one reason true christians are no part of the world

If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is it's own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you. 15:21 But they will do all these things against you on account of my name, because they do not know HIM THAT SENT ME>(JEHOVAH).

I've often wondered if construction of a red lightsaber takes place before you can become a Republican, or is it something you do after initiation. Dah, well... shrug

You are a part of this world. You're here. Deal with it.

People don't hate Christians because they believe in Christ, they hate some of them because they misrepresent his name.

You cannot point to peoples hatred or distaste as proof that you are doing the right thing.

I am not part of your world if I were, your nickname, and your comments wouldn't offend me, but they do!
I wonder if Jesus aproves of your foul language....somehow I don't think so.
Misrepresent his name is right I agree with you there. Do you actually know the definition of Jesus? It means Jehovah is salvation.

Separate and Distinct From Babylon the Great

To be no part of the world, they had to be no part of religious systems that were deeply involved in the affairs of the world and that had absorbed doctrines and customs from ancient Babylon, the longtime enemy of true worship. (Jer. 50:29) When the first world war erupted, the Bible Students had for decades been exposing the pagan roots of such doctrines of Christendom as the Trinity, immortality of the human soul, and hellfire. They had also laid bare the churches’ record of trying to manipulate governments for their own selfish ends. Because of Christendom’s doctrines and practices, the Bible Students had identified it with “Babylon the Great.” (Rev. 18:2) They pointed out that it mixed truth with error, lukewarm Christianity with outright worldliness, and that the Biblical designation “Babylon” (meaning, “Confusion”) well described that condition. They urged lovers of God to get out of “Babylon.” (Rev. 18:4) To that end, late in December 1917 and early in 1918, they distributed 10,000,000 copies of the issue of The Bible Students Monthly that featured the subject “The Fall of Babylon,” which was a hard-hitting exposé of Christendom. This, in turn, resulted in bitter animosity from the clergy, who exploited wartime hysteria in an endeavor to crush the work of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Of necessity, getting out of Babylon the Great involved withdrawing from membership in organizations that advocated her false doctrines. The Bible Students did that, although for many years they viewed as Christian brothers those individuals in the churches who professed full consecration and faith in the ransom. Nevertheless, not only did the Bible Students write letters of withdrawal from Christendom’s churches but, when possible, some would read theirs aloud at church meetings where it was in order for members to speak up. If this was not possible, they might send a copy of their letter of withdrawal—a kindly one containing an appropriate witness—to every member of the congregation.

Sure it is.

Until you shed that thing called a body, you are not living in the spiritual world. You live here on planet earth and should act like you do. Feel free to live whatever way you consider not to be sinful but participate as well.

Just to get the WTS stance on the above quote:
Watchtower November 15, 2001 p.19
14 Anointed Christians are like alien residents living in tents apart from this system of things. Not even a plague draws near their tent. Whether our hope is heavenly or earthly, we are no part of the world, and we are not infected by such spiritually deadly plagues as its immorality, materialism, false religion and worship of the 'wild beast' and it's 'image', the United Nations.

But look! The WTS joined the United nations secretly for about 10 years and then were exposed by the Guardian newspaper(UK)

http://www.guardian.co.uk...05,00.html

under the heading

Jehovah's Witnesses link to UN queried Sect accused of hypocrisy over association with organisation it has demonised.

The WTS submitted a removal from the UN after it became known. Word reached the brothers and sisters who contacted the UN, thus prompting them the UN) to produce the following:

http://www.un.org/dpi/ngo...htower.pdf

The world doesnt hate you because you're "true christians". To be honest, the world couldnt really care less about you - you're just not that important. But before you start claiming serperation from the world, may I suggest you find out who your leaders are in bed with?

Did you realise that there are things that Jehovahs Witnesses STILL do that have pagan origins? or "customs from ancient Babylon"?
To be really seperate from the world and false Religion you must stop using the modern calender which has pagan origins. I know this was once suggested - sometime in the dark history of the WTS they produced a calender that didnt use any of the Roman Gods. hmm
Also, how many newly weds swap wedding rings? Did you know that these also have pagan origin. These are accepted, and yet JW's are forbidden to throw rice at a wedding because it has pagan origins.... nuts

Methinks you're doing a pretty poor job of remaining sperate from the world... evillol

have you researched the meaning behind those customs? the rings for example? was the trading of the rings some custom worshipping a pagan god? do a little more research if you're really interested.
