List Your Favorite Star Wars Movies in Order?

1. Revenge of the Sith - Epic. Awesome.

2. The Phantom Menace - Majestic. Mysterious. Grandly underrated.

3. A New Hope - Great.

4. Return of the Jedi - Lots of not-so-great; Ewoks, etc. But incredibly emotional

5. Attack of the Clones - Probably tied with ROTJ. Difficult being the middle chapter. Mystery.

6. Empire Strikes Back - Classic, of course. Just like the above better.

7. The Rise of Skywalker - Think of it as a standalone fan fiction and it almost works

8. Rogue One - not as bad as the rest of the Disneyfied films

9. The Last Jedi - Not as disappointing as TFA; the bar was set very low

10. The Force Awakens - the single most disappointing movie of all time

? Solo - Could not make it through the film on Netflix; tried several times.

Y'all??

The sequels aren't worth mentioning....they're a total shitfest. I've yet to see Solo, so I can't rate it.

Was the very first movie (Episode 4) given some other name than "Star Wars"? I don't see plain old "Star Wars" on anyone's list. Is it under another name?

It was just called "Star Wars" in 1977, and Lucas had no plans for a sequel which is why that first movie is such a perfect adventure beginning to end that is perfectly strucured all on its own. The idea to make it seem to be part of a serial with the retro orchestral score, opening crawl, and retro transitions were just a style gimmick.

But then it made more money and became more engrained in popular WORLD culture than anyone imagined... so Lucas went back to his outlines and worked out two sequels with other writers. But he had to backtrack on some decisions that were made in Star Wars and patch them up to incorporate original notes of family relationships. He had to patch over things like in 1977, Vader killed Luke's father, and Leia was a romantic interest of Luke's...

yeah Vader was not the father until well into drafting of Empire. There is a part in an early draft where Luke's dad shows up...I can not remember if he was a ghost or alive...

As to Luke and Liea being siblings: in the book "Splinter of the Minds Eye" (which was by Allen Dean Foster who ghost wrote the book "Star Wars" as might have served as a low buget squel) they took the intrest even further....

and yes there was some confusing when all of a sudden there was Episode IV a New Hope... THe movie was in theaters for a LONG time...

for a while they sold DVDs of the trilogy with a 2nd DVD of the orginal cuts. I have Star Wars but not the other 2.

1. Star Wars
2. Empire
3. Clone Wars anime ( not cartoon Network version. I saw it long play, but it seems episodic so it might not count))
4. Rouge One
5. Return if the Jedi
6. Prequels
6. Solo
7. Sequels

I really liked Solo, but only like ether the prequels or sequels as a whole.

And honestly, I actually do not like the sequels much. The quality is great as far as look and acting, but the story is utter shite. Like, barely even Star Wars.

The Empire Strikes Back
A New Hope
Return of the Jedi
Attack of the Clones
Phantom Menace
Rogue One
Revenge of the Sith
Ewok Adventure
Holiday Special
The rest of the crap..... but haven't seen the "new one". Deliberately voting no with my dollars....watched SPIES IN DISGUISE instead! And that was pretty fun, smart and laugh out loud funny (*I'm a pigeon fan/assister)

Best and most visceral metamorphosis on film since AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON.

What I liked about the movie(TROS) was the technological potential for a real Star Wars movie. But that is also what made me said, because it's over. Mostly because Carrie Fischer is dead.
I wanted to see Luke Skywalker in action. I wanted to see Leia the daughter of Anakin Skywalker welding a lightsaber and using the force etc not that 'Mary Poppins move' in TLJ.

You know, it's so good that, as designed, you never have to watch another one.

Plus, I saw it four times in the theater when it came out. I figure I'm good forever on that basis. lol

Darth Binks was a dark lord of the Sith. So powerful and so wise .....

But really are you thinking I'm supposed to be embarrassed?

Are you familiar with Ewoks?

I LOVE Jar Jar. BTW, George Lucas said it was his favorite character in all of Star Wars.

But what I really don't think is cool is people like yourself who have to follow a certain protocol when it comes to Star Wars Prequels; I think the zombification started with the losers at Red Letter Media; then all then all "cool" kids had to mock everything about them.

George Lucas is an artist and its all his vision.

You really think the Disney garbage has interesting ideas? How about any ideas?

I'll take Jar Jar and Darth Maul and a real story and real ideas any day of the week.

1. I don't think he re-discovered anything. Unlike Disney, he actually had a story to tell in 3 parts; he understood he needed to BUILD up to the climax; it was all purposeful.
