Perfect Timing: MEGA STAR Will Smith & Jay Z Partner To Create an Emmett Till MiniSeries For HBO

n58xf.jpg

Will Smith(whom I worked with) and JAY-Z(whom I saw a few weeks ago at The NAACP Awards) are partnering to create a miniseries about Emmett Till. They are joined by Jay Brown, James Lassiter, and Aaron Kaplan as executive producers on the project.

As of today, the Emmett Till miniseries doesn’t have a name, but will be produced on HBO.

Till was jusMEGAt 14 years old at the time of his murder in 1955. He was originally from Chicago, but was visiting family in Mississippi. He was said to have whistled at Carolyn Bryant, a white woman, and was savagely beaten by her husband Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam.

[ADSENSE2]Despite bragging about the murder, an all white jury acquitted the killers of the crime. They later admitted their guilt publicly, but was never taken to task for their wrongdoings.

The Till family decided to have an open-casket funeral to show the savage nature of her their child’s murderers. The Chicago Defender and other publications were given the right to publish unedited photos of her son.

Will (whom was the last person to talk with Prince(r.i.p.) ) & JAY-Z (whom brokered a deal with Prince(r.i.p.) for his streaming service TIDAL) both have made MAJOR strides in the entertainment industry. This story needs to be told the right way. These are the two that can pull it off. Hopefully Will will join the cast & JAY-Z will executive produce the soundtrack or make his acting debut.

"That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when eye was doing the Purple Rain tour eye had a lot of people who eye knew eye'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."prince

The very idea of Jay-Z (whom I met when I worked with his wife's sister) and Will Smith (whom I personally find to be overrated) teaming up on any project is enough for me to know I should avoid it at all costs. But even I have to admit that this sounds like an interesting story. I wonder will Will Smith (who CLAIMS to be the last person to speak to Prince(r.i.p)) fuck it up by appearing in it. Or will Jay-Z (whose streaming service is shit) fuck it up by plastering his shit music all over it. I'm going to stay positive though. HBO (who cancelled and are now bringing back Deadwood) are generally pretty good so my fingers (index and middle) are crossed in the hope this turns out to be good. Thanks ChocolateBox3121 (aka The Artist Formally Known As KCoolMusiq) for bringing this to my attention.

I just wish Smith had done his laces up. It's all I see in the photo.

That miniseries will be a hard one to watch because of the horrific details of his murder.

Its a coin toss. I know the story, the outcome is going to remain the same.
