undergroundFUN
K

I started out with a different name, one that was linked to Prince in someway like most do on here. Can not remember my initial name as I changed it so long ago but I decided I wanted something original and a name/title that Prince himself may have come up with. I always liked back in the late 90s and early 00s that Prince was kind of an independent underground artist and then combining my favorite style of music in all caps to the name and what was born...undergroundFUNK! 💜🤷😎

anc282

It's really just a combination of my initials and birthdate....

along with a slight nod to the movie "Turk 182."

At least it's nothing embarrassing or corny! That's the main thing! lol

I had my name or rather the interpetation of my name removed never to be used online again so I came up with something off the top of my head that wouldn't require me using numbers. Not vety poetic is it? shrug

?Morningsong didn't have numbers.?

My dad taught himself to work with pre-print programs on both PC and MAC machines in the early nineties. He jokingly referred to himself as PC MacDaddy (PCM are his actual initials)

When I first signed up to the Org in the early noughties I used the MacDaddy part because I had a Mac and couldn't come up with something original.

databank

I used to be on the Org under my real name. Not the one on my passport but the one I used in everyday life and on stage. When I chose a different stage name I took that one on the Org though I still used the old one in real life. Then at some point I realized that, for various reasons, it was better to choose a proper orgname, and that's when I began working on my site 10 years ago, so since I was building a databank of Prince songs, it made sense to call myself "databank", even though -amusingly- I was never too fond of that song, either version lol

Deadflow3r

I joined twice. I joined as Deadflow3r right after the album Lotusflow3r came out. There was a lot of discussion on the 3CD set and I had a definite opinion. Since ALL the threads I was on were concerning those three CD's I wanted a name like Lotusflow3r. Sunflower? Roseflow3r? When I got to Deadflow3r I instantly knew I had the right one.

There’s no juicy story behind my username. 206 is the telephone area code of Seattle, WA, my hometown. Michelle is my first name.

prior to the org there was PPML. I was Organgrinder and when PPML closed and the org was introduced, someone took my username so I had to come up with a new one. Was listening to SupaFunkCaliFragiSexy and realized CaliFragi had the same amount of sllyables as Organgrinder, thus Supa was born!! biggrin

the PPML or the PML? I loved the PML...then after a few people abused it it got made into a digest and I think it changed hands a time or two... one of the best convos on that was about Peach! and the "She was pure...every ounce..." and a few about *maybe Data bank*?

and before and during that was the Alt.Music.Prince
