Yes, it really is.

we'll see how it plays out over time... but you're wrong

the buzz etc around the avengers is NOTHING compared to when star wars came out

All the Avengers movies look immediately dated. They are based on sloppy special effects that look cheap. They will all be remade and recast as soon as two years.

The only one who was recast was Edward Norton but that's only because he wasn't fully invested in the movies. Plus, Mark Ruffalo is a step up. Literally everything else you said was wrong.

The first Avengers movie, released in 2012, has better visual effects than most movies released in 2018 so even after 6 years, it still does not look dated.

And none, not even one, of the MCU movies has been remade. Not one. So I don't know where you get the idea that they get remade after two years. The MCU series of movies is in its 11th year now and there have been no remakes of any of the movies.

They’re all getting old and of course they will need recasting soon. The special effects do look like they are rushed because they are. The less discerning think old fashioned blue screen is fine too, but it does have a certain cheesyness to it all. Buy hey, this are aimed for children and those with arrested development which is a huge ever-churning money harvesting demographic.
But there is no doubt whatsoever that a whole new cast to take over every single character is already in the planning.

I think you're confused. There is nothing rushed about the MCU. They already have the next 10 years worth of movies planned out in advance. And yes, those movies will either feature the same cast or introduce brand new superheroes into the mix. The DCEU, on the other hand, is guilty of everything you're saying about the Marvel movies. But the MCU's visual effects are most certainly not rushed or aging.

Kevin Feige, the man in charge of the MCU, has already stated that there are no plans to recast any of the heroes of the MCU. When Robert Downey Jr gets too old to play Iron Man, another actor will likely step into the role but they won't be playing Tony Stark. Because when Robert Downey Jr is deemed too old, Tony Stark, the character, will be too old. Therefore, he will seek out his own replacement to continue as Iron Man within the ever-continuing MCU movie series.

But they haven't remade ANY of the MCU movies yet. And why would they when they are more popular than ever? Each movie makes close to, or in some cases much more, than a billion dollars. They're not going to fuck with that. And if that's not enough, the man in charge of the MCU has stated multiple times that there is no plans to remake or recast any of the movies. The plan is to continue the current series far into the future. In the comics, different people have portrayed Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Man etc. So when the current actors get too old or simply don't want to do it anymore, the movies will work in a way to replace them within the story. Peter Parker will retire and be replaced by Miles Morales for example. That's the plan. You can't compare what the MCU is doing to the likes of the other Marvel, DC or Disney movies that came before. Because there's never been anything like the MCU before. It's essentially a continuing comic book series in movie form. That's never been done before and as we've seen with the collapse of the DCEU, it will probably never be replicated by anyone else.

Marvel movies HAVE been remade many times. Kevin Fegie will stay another ...five years. People retire and get, old get fired, change their minds, economic conditions change etc. I can guarantee you with a doubt EVERYONE will be recast eventually and movie will be remade.

Age of Ultron alone is one one the worst movies ever made. These movies are not holy documents.

Please enlighten us on which movies from the MCU that have been remade. I'll wait.

Kevin Feige is only in his mid 40s. Why would he retire? He's raking it in and there's no sign of that stopping any time soon. Not to mention that he's being given some top award from the Producer's Guild of America this year.

Age Of Ultron is probably the worst of the MCU but it had a troubled production and a lot of that was down to Joss Whedon. But that movie was fairly early in the series and as with any ambitious, long term project, there's bound to be a few mis-steps along the way. Since then the MCU has gone from strength to strength and shows no sign of slowing down. In fact, things are about to pick up significantly going forward due to Disney's buy out of Fox and the movie rights to Fantastic 4 and the X-Men going back to Marvel. Bad news for movie snobs and those who think that liking "high brow" movies make them look intelligent, but great news for those who see movies as a form of entertainment.

Honestly, anyone who’s ever followed comics knows that back stories, origins and the titles themselves reimagined every so often. How difficult can it be see that won’t happen and has happened continually with Marvel. It’s not a serious argument.

It hasn't happened after 11 years of the MCU and they've already said that they have the next 10 years worth of movies planned out. And those movies are not remakes of existing movies within the MCU. They are all sequels or new movies with new superheroes. You are using what has happened with other movie studios and attributing that to Marvel Films. But that's not fair because Marvel Films are not Sony or Fox or any of those. They have a long-term plan, which they have stuck to since day one and that has largely been successful both in terms of critical praise as well as at the box office. Of course there's been some stumbles along the way. Iron Man 2 and Age Of Ultron can attest to that. I personally don't like the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie or Thor 2. But they have been massively successful. Because they've stuck to their plan. And if they continue to plan these movies in "Phases", which we know they are, then this series will just keep going. There's no need to reboot or remake any of the movies of the MCU.

I don't class myself as a fangirl of anything. Not even of Prince and this is a Prince fansite. The reality is exactly what I've already stated. Undisputed facts. I'll go through them again.

1. The MCU has been going now since 2008's Iron Man.

2. To date, there is 20 movies that make up this series with 3 more movies due this year.

3. None of these movies are remakes or reboots.

4. Only Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle have replaced the original actors in their roles. However, these actors are playing the same versions of the same characters and the recasting was not due to any remakes or reboots.

5. Kevin Feige has gone on record to say that the next 10 years (at least!) of the MCU is already planned out and that none of the cast are going to be replaced. His example was that when Robert Downey Jr steps aside, it won't facilitate a complete reboot of the movies because Iron Man is only a small part of the larger series. Instead, another character within the MCU will become Iron Man in place of Tony Stark.

6. As characters like Captain America and Thor are phased out of the series, new characters such as The X-Men and Fantastic 4 will take their place among The Avengers. Again, this will lead to extending the already established MCU movie series. We have already seen hints of this with the introduction of Spider-Man and now Captain Marvel joining the team. Older heroes are moved on, younger ones take their place.

7. The MCU is pretty much a licence to print money. Disney loves money. They also love the attention these movies get from critics. Infinity War topped many serious movie publications lists of best movies of 2018. Black Panther was also highly praised. They are not going to want to mess with what has already proved to be a very successful franchise.

The above points, especially when you take into consideration Kevin Feige's comments about there being no plans to reboot or remake any of the movies within the MCU, is proof enough that there will not be any remakes or reboots of the movies in the MCU anytime soon. That is the reality.

I get that you're a movie snob and I'll concede that when it comes to the films of Truffaut, Godard or Fellini, that you know more than I do. But I know more about these kinds of things than you. Trust me. I can guarantee you that there will be no remakes or reboots of any of the movies in the MCU anytime soon.

For me, Ruffalo is a sstep down. It's unfortunate things didn't work out with Norton - he actually looks the part. His Hulk was my favorite version.
