Do you read to your pets?

I do and she likes it so much that I’m thinking of creating Books specifically for pets where readers are expressive and need to make animal sounds that appeal to domestic animals smile

I think you have a stupid dog. I used to read to my dog when she was a pup but lately, she's been reading to me. Her taste in books is a bit highbrow for me though. There's only so many times I can hear War And Peace. Just once I'd love her to try some "lower form" of literature. I bought her an Amazon Fire HD and downloaded a whole load of HG Wells novels. The Time Machine, Island of Doctor Moreau, War Of The Worlds, The Invisible Man. All the classics. She was having none of it. She just put her glasses on (she's getting old now) and went back to Ulysses. I was thinking of giving up and trying to start again with the goldfish but he's too engrossed in his comic books to pay attention to me.

i must say, that's quite an impressive pet you have (the dog, not the goldfish... i bet the stupid fish reads the same comic over and over, forgetting that he's read it before)

i'm going to have to have this out with my dog, although i'll have to be careful not to crush her self worth as she's quite sensitive... yesterday when she cooked me breakfast i complained that the omelette was a bit burnt and she sulked for the whole afternoon

Well my dog is getting old and they do say that you can't teach an old dog new tricks. So maybe I'll just leave her to it. Let her enjoy her retirement. After all, she's almost 9 years old.

You shouldn't put up with a sulky dog in your house. Bitches be trippin'. Tell her she won't be allowed out for walkies if she doesn't improve her attitude.

My cat is a double digit IQ visual media addict, and has terrible taste in television. She thinks Happy Days is a better show than Mary Tyler Moore, and I've caught her bingewatching The Ashton Kutcher episodes of Two and a Half Men. She also prefers NCIS, CSI, and Criminal Minds to GLOW and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It was a mistake to bring her home fro. The shelter.

None of my dogs cared for books...but they all liked to bark and growl at dogs they saw on TV. Or when they saw themselves in a mirror. lol

My dog actually does understand 2 languages. I'm fluent in both Irish and English and when my daughter was only learning how to talk, I thought her both languages. Training the dog to understand commands in both languages helped my daughter learn quicker because then she was hearing them more often.

Believe it or not, my family used to have a cat that would attack the TV screen when Reagan came on in the '80s... lol

Not to be rude. .. BUT! - do you smoke pot in the house?

I've always thought it was unusual for dogs to self recognize in the mirror. Really. I want to know in case it's an unusual case of acknowledgment from thc/altered states

All my cat ever did was lay across my book while I tried to study.

I did have a dog I read to as a kid. He was my buddy.
