Coming from someone who did ballet for 8 years and was really quite good at it, I could never sit through an entire show. It's so boring to watch. So well done.

By the way, I've seen quite a few posts about Misty recently on here. Who is she??

She has worked with Prince. She's considered a prodigy since she didn't even start doing ballet until she was 13. She came from a pretty unsteady background. She is now the first African-American to be a principle dancer for the American Ballet Theatre one of the top 3 leading ballet companies in the US, in it's 75 year history.

She was in Disney's The Nutcracker and The Four Realms which I saw and then is snowballed from there when I heard she was performing in OC this month.

Here's the page on Misty's website about her background. www.mistycopeland.com/about-2/ And an article about her friendship and work with Prince: www.tvovermind.com/explor...riendship/

Are you going to tell us what role she danced?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I love ballet. Svetlana Zakharova is my favorite and is who I watch mostly. She apparently has not danced in The Nutcracker and so I have never seen it.

Cheers to Misty. I've had her ballet shoes because I love to walk around in ballet shoes. :swan:

I remember it. I remember that I didn't think Natalie did it all herself. She and Mila dropped about 20 pounds, but did not learn 20 years of dance just like that. But I didn't care, I loved the movie.

What?

Yeah. As well as Turning Point, The Company, First Position, White Nights, Billy Elliott and a few others I can't remember right now. What of it?

Going to see Nutcracker again just the Russian ballet coming here if I can figure out which troupe is which, I didn't realize there were so many different productions of it in my own city. We need a new performance arts center here I'm so jealous of OCs right now.
