We've had 2 horrible fires in the 2000s yet I think we're not even considered for the train until decades after its built. There was one in Mexico along the same trajectory where there will be no super train built. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Plus, why would the state need to start fires to burn people out to install a rail system when all the state has to do is declare eminent domain to acquire the property... California has always had a history of wildfires... When I first visited California in 1980 with my Dad and Grandmother (we came out to see her brother she hadn't seen in 30 years!) I remember driving out of the mountains into the San Joaquin valley and the entire sky was covered in smoke from wildfires no matter how far North we drove. Only now the wildfires are getting more severe and destructive due to climate changes...and probably because population growth has extended into areas not so populated in prior decades...purplethunder3121 said:
