Aquaman' Dons His Classic Outfit in Final Trailer

https://www.msn.com/en-us...eD#image=1

With a month to go until release, Warner Bros. has released the final trailer for DC's "Aquaman," which features Arthur Curry preparing to rise as King of Atlantis.

The trailer shows Arthur (Jason Momoa) being raised from infancy on the tales and prophecies of his mother's undersea home before undergoing rigorous training by his Atlantean mentor, Nuidis Vulko (Willem Dafoe). Then, as an adult, the seafaring member of the Justice League must take up his trident and stop his brother (Patrick Wilson) from declaring war on humanity while also fending off the human mercenary Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II).

Amber Heard, Dolph Lundgren, and Nicole Kidman also star in this film directed by James Wan from a script co-written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall. It's one of four DC films currently on Warner Bros.' slate, with "Shazam," "Wonder Woman 1984" and "Birds of Prey" coming in 2019 and 2020. Warner Bros. and DC will also release the stand-alone film "Joker" next October.

"Aquaman" hits theaters December 21.

WB are awful for promoting their movies. Whoever is in charge of making these trailers should be ashamed of themselves. They always show far too much. I get that they're desperate at this stage, what with the Justice League being a flop, Suicide Squad being shit, WW 2 being delayed by a full year, their best actor seemingly leaving the series and the general lack of interest from the movie-going public, but surely there are better ways to promote your movie than basically showing it all for free in the trailers.

So Goblin's in DC now lol Now they invest in origin stories...lil too late! And god already that moving under water CGI looks terrible. That the best they could do? No visible means of motioning in water. I'm sure Mamoa's gonna do a great job but SKIP!

WB has turned the DCEU to shit....they should stop already.

The only thing they got right (so far) is the MonsterVerse.

Even for the Justice League movie for not showing Superman. Everybody knew Superman was coming back, they weren't fooling anybody.

In hindsight, I actually understand why they didn't show Superman in the trailers. His weird CGI lip would have put a lot of people off.

It's weird having the Flash on the tv series so different than the one in the movie.

I liked the Justice League, the genre lost me for a minute having to watch Batman and Superman fight in that other movie. I still can't wrap my head around that even though I assume it is a part of the comics.

It's not really that hard to understand why Batman is wary of Superman. It's kind of explained in the movie anyway. This version of Batman has seen Robin die at the hands of The Joker and Harley Quinn (as was explained in Suicide Squad) and he's also seen his former friend (presumably Harvey Dent) turn to crime, as is evidenced by his comment to Alfred, "How many people stay good". He's naturally suspicious of alien invaders on Earth. Especially alien invaders who have the powers of Gods. Considering Batman has no powers, he feels under-prepared if Superman was to turn bad. Its a normal human emotion to fear the unknown and he is afraid of Superman. That's why, even though he admits that it may be an irrational fear, he says that if there's even a small chance a being with Superman's powers will turn bad, he needs to take it as a certainty that he will. Therefore, he needs to eliminate the threat. Superman, for his part, constantly holds back during their fight because with his powers, he could kill Batman at any moment. But he chooses not to. He has no issue with Batman. Even when Lex Luthor kidnaps his mother to force him to kill Batman, he still holds back in the fight.

BvS took elements from Frank Miller's classic graphic novel 'The Dark Knight Returns', where Batman and Superman become adversaries. It does make sense, because of their different methods. This link goes into more detail;

The feeling is sound. But to pick a fight with a being that might kill you because your afraid they MIGHT be a bad person seems to go against a lot of values. Seems, on the surface, like a thin veil to just have a big fight scene in a movie. But at the same time if it's a part of the original "mythology" then it couldn't be skipped.

Yeah, I see why you feel that way. But Bruce Wayne is not a normal man. He's quite clearly a bit crazy. He witnessed his parents get killed and despite only being a child at the time, he feels he could have done more to prevent it. That event spurred him on to becoming Batman, a shadowy figure who beats the shit out of any and all criminals in Gotham City.

This version of Batman mentions that he's seen good men turn bad. Harvey Dent is most likely who he's talking about. Many versions of Batman have Bruce Wayne and Harvey Debt as good friends before Harvey turns into Two Face. This is another instance in which Bruce Wayne blames himself. He feels he should have prevented it.

This version of Batman has also seen Robin murdered at the hands of The Joker and Harley Quinn. Robin, a young man who Bruce Wayne recruited to help him clean up the streets, died because of Batman. Or at least, that's how he sees it. Had Batman not recruited him, he'd still be alive. Had Batman dealt with the Joker properly instead of just locking him up in Arkham, Robin would still be alive.

These three events have shaped the Bruce Wayne of Batman Vs Superman into who he is. His lack of action in the past caused the death of his parents, possibly the death of his best friend and also the death of Robin, a young man Bruce Wayne himself brought into that world. That's why, when he's going up against the criminals in the movie, he uses lethal force. They can't hurt anyone else if they're dead. So when he sees 4 Kryptonians fighting in Metropolis, and sees the danger they could pose to the planet, his first reaction is to act decisively. He's determined to prevent any more catastrophe. Even if it means eliminating Superman before he has the chance to become a threat. Like I said, he's a bit crazy anyway but in his mind, killing Superman is the lesser of two evils. The alternative is to not act (again) and see innocent people suffer because of him.

That's a lot of psychology stuff there, I did not get all that from the movie even if it was there, so much overwelming stuff and I not all the familiar with the depth of it beyond the basic backstory.

Bruce Wayne died the nght his parents were gunned down in front of him. As Rachel said in 'Batman Begins', Bruce Wayne is just a mask - Batman is who he really is. I thought Affleck did a great job as the Dark Knight, but WB fucked shit up by having him crack jokes in Justice League.
