I don't really have any regrets so I wouldn't advise my younger self to do anything different. I would probably just want to prepare her for some of the things that are going to happen in her future. There was one particular thing that happened to me which I've never mentioned on the org and it very nearly ended me. I'd try to prepare my younger self for that in the hope that it wouldn't impact her the way it impacted me. [Edited 9/27/18 14:21pm]

me too, i courted a woman and she called the cops on me. I've been through a million hellish things which is why i hate being around people today but that event might have really been the end of any hope for me to have any real connection to any human, there were many betrayals and dissapointments but that one might have done the most damage. At any rate, it all balances out, I have a lot of peace in my life, I cannot say that for all the men I known who have to put themselves through a meatgrinder of a work life and come home to argue with a woman who's never happy with anything. I got off light, I see that now but it didn't look like that at the time. I'm glad it happened all things said.

Don't let fear of failure, rejection or humiliation rule you. Failure is just a momentary state unless you make it otherwise. Stay present in the moment and that will reduce suffering.

Not to let all those evil girls in middle school get to me.

The first bullies I ever had were three girls - Leah Scott, Rhonda Thompson, & Julie Hollaway - who were the best at being mean girls. I was called a fag, at 11 years old, before I ever knew what that meant. It followed into high school. They made my life hell, as well as their boyfriends jumping into the mob mentality.

I'm not sure what I'd tell that little boy. I really don't.

Yeah, they alway aggress in groups...little cowards

I would go back and hug that little girl, tell her that she is better than she believes she is, that she will face challenges that she does not believe she will survive, but she will, because she is a strong, brave, individual. I would tell her that it is okay to speak out against injustices, that people will listen to what she has to say. And then I would tell her that I love her.

You were born in the early 80s, wasn't that the Nike ad campaign from 1988 - 1998?

You couldn't have missed that message, it was everywhere.

The "Just Do It" campaign allowed Nike to further increase its share of the North American domestic sport-shoe business from 18% to 43%, (from $877 million to $9.2 billion in worldwide sales) from 1988 to 1998.

That would be my next thing to say. I'd probably word it as "go for it" but same principle.

My mom used to tell me not to take wooden nickels and I never understood the reference but understood the gist of it. Don't be a dumbass. Thanks Mom, RIP

Other than that observation, Kitbradley, this list is GREAT! Thanks for posting it!

Your parents are rarely right, try not to be influenced by them. Listen to your inner voice. You're worth so much more than you think you are. You CAN be anything you want to be.... It really isn't so hard.
Spend more time with the wise people in your life.
And it's going to be ok.

So the question was what would you tell "your younger self"....for me this would have been helpful for me than believing something else. "All woman lie" is a statement I would not argue with as I'm not living in the shoes of the person making a statement and or opinion like that. My advice was for me and me only, if you disagree for you personally that's perfectly fine.
