Yeah he worries me.

He was hit 19 times on Sunday.

He's tough but he is not a big guy. I don't think his body can take that many hits from 250 - 325 pound giant, fast-moving, hard-hitting defensive personnel.

You can get away with that running stuff in college, NOT in the NFL. Even big dudes like Cam Newton can't take those hits constantly.

The coaches have to get into Watson's head to avoid that shit.

yup, that why the running QB don't work in the NFL.

It can work, but not as a main weapon. You have to be able to make downfield throws from the pocket to have long term success in the pros. But there are QBs who do both - they're deadly from the pocket, and they can make throws on the run, or run to espace the rush (Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson). The key is sliding to avoid those big hits.

Yes you want a mobile/scrambler QB, not someone who just runs . Like you said able to make downfield throws from the pocket

Make no mistake Watson was a pocket passer at Clemson. It was his arm that won
the national championship for Clemson. He maybe a little jittery in the pocket
coming off major knee surgery last season.

A few years back I found some info on the force of hits made by the guys of today versus the guys from the 60's/70's. Today's guys are 10%-15% bigger, 10% - 15% faster, and 15% - 20% stronger. As I recall, if you add that up it means today's players hit something 300% harder than the guys from back then.

Quarterbacks and offensive players are bigger too, but no amount of size or padding technology is going to absorb that 300% of extra force.

I think what gets guys like Watson is the speed of the defensive players in the NFL versu college. I am sure the college players also hit 300%, or whatever, harder than their predecessors. But for the most part, guys like Watson are faster so they can run away from the hit.

But they aren't faster than the guys who make it to the NFL; however, some guys refuse to believe that until their third knee surgery.

Bengals LB Burfict fined $112K for hits vs. Steelers

Vontaze Burfict has been fined. Again.

In his second game back from a four-game suspension, the Cincinnati Bengals linebacker incurred $112,000 in fines stemming from multiple plays against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week that were constituted as unnecessary roughness. Burfict was not suspended for the hits, however, as was reported Monday by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

These plays include in particular two third-quarter hits on Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown (11:19) and running back James Conner (5:17).

The hits drew the ire of the Steelers, particularly quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who this week called out Burfict's antics during and after his elbow shot on Brown.

"When he hits (Antonio Brown) and knocks AB and his (own) guy out, that very next play ... he's standing there, points to JuJu and says 'You're next,'" Roethlisberger said Tuesday. "To me that's completely uncalled for and that's where I think I had the biggest issue."

Right tackle Marcus Gilbert also took issue with Burfict's behavior, calling it "pathetic" "sad," and telling reporters "hopefully one of these days (Burfict) grows up."

This is, of course, not the first time Burfict has been disciplined by the league. Since entering the pros in 2012, Burfict has been fined on at least five separate occasions for a total of $293,608 for the following offenses, per Pro Football Reference: twisting the ankles of opposing players; roughing the passer, unnecessary roughness and a face mask penalty; stomping on an opponent's leg; unsportsmanlike conduct; and now two instances of unnecessary roughness again.

Burfict has also been suspended three times to start the season for the last three years for a combined 10 games.

The Bengals signed the linebacker to a three-year extension last September.

I think Chargers are a good team, most likely finish 2nd in the AFC West. What's up with the Jags, Houston Texans are raping them

Not a good year for kickers. Even Tucker (who at this point was the best kicker in the NFL) missed the extra point lol
