It pains me to post this but apparently America's Favorite Mr. Irrelevant made a very bad mistake:

https://deadspin.com/bron...1829939938

Broncos backup quarterback Chad Kelly was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail this morning on charges of first-degree criminal trespassing. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network first reported the arrest.

According to the probable cause affidavit, which you can find an excerpt of below, Englewood PD responded to a trespassing call at 1:16 a.m. local time. The caller said that “an unknown male entered the residence uninvited and sat down on the couch next to her mumbling incoherently.” That male was later identified as Kelly, and he left the house after one of the residents hit him with an aluminum vacuum tube.

Well, another disastrous season. I wasn't like other Giants fans who were saying "worst-to-first". I thought they'd go 7-9 or 8-8, but I didn't see this coming....damn. The win-now plan was a complete failure. And I just heard on WFAN that Eli Apple got traded to the Saints.....the rebuild is on.

A caller brought up a great point...the Giants have been a mess under three different regimes (Coughlin, McAdoo and now Shurmur). Ownership has to get it together.

Well Coughlin got you guys to the Superbowl (was twice???). Honestly I wish Coughlin was apart of the Steelers organization in some form. He knows how to beat the Steelers over the years.

The NYGs have been like a 2006 luxury car with heavy mileage, where the owner does maintenance on the cheap, while adding chrome rims, tinted windows and other gadgets to keep it looking new as it falls apart.

A decade ago, the Giants were solid on both lines of scrimmage, had depth along the defensive line, a young franchise QB and good playmakers on the outside. Eventually, their lines aged out or left via free agency (sometimes noisily), they were depleted in the secondary, and they whiffed on some picks along the lines of scrimmage. And their QB has not only played a lot of games, but been beaten up worse every year.

Instead of truly addressing these problems, they added OBJ and Saquon, who would be perfect complements for the 00's/early 10's Jints, but are fairly useless as parts of this roster.

Gettelman knows that it's time for an overhaul, and if I'm NYG, I limit Saquon's touches.

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — The Denver Broncos have waived backup quarterback Chad Kelly a day after he was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass after a couple reported he came into their suburban home uninvited and sat down on their couch "mumbling incoherently."

General manager John Elway huddled with coach Vance Joseph and team president Joe Ellis and "we agreed that releasing Chad was the right thing to do," Elway said in a statement.

I've been saying this shit since the draft, when we had a chance to draft Eli's successor. Quick-fixes never work in pro sports...being a Knicks fan, I know all about quick-fixes.

Snacks Harrison just got traded to Detroit.

Yes they need to look to the future to replace Eli already. Even the Steelers are looking to the future after Ben by drafting Mason Rudolph and getting rid of L. Jones and keeping Dobbs

True. but like Marino, Rodgers is saddled with an FO that has failed to put a complete team around him -- mainly, a good running game and a decent defense.

More than a decade in, despite his brilliance, he's got one SB appearance to show for it -- just like Marino.

There's a big difference from Marino -- Rodgers won his.

But still the pattern feels awfully familiar to me.

Yes. Chad tried really, really hard to straighten up while he was at Ole Miss. I was hoping he could carry that into the NFL. Aside from the fact he's an acquaintance of my kids so I root for him anyway, I thought the story of a Mr. Irrelevant making it as a starting quarterback in the NFL was cool.

People can say what they want about former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze - and believe me, I have! - but one thing he did good was getting Chad on the right path. Too bad it didn't stick.

Rodgers is not the problem. They are currently 2nd in their division and could win the NFC North.

Not saying it doesn'tl; the point was that Rodgers' FO has let him down for about a decade, just like Marino's FO did back in the 80's and 90's.
