What can I do? ( afraid to lose more weight )

Honestly I didn't want to start this thread at first because I asked for help once here, or maybe even twice, I don't know. But I don't know what to do anymore, and I really hope that here's one person who probably had the same problem and can help me out.

It all started in fall last year, I thought I had an ear infection, I had a really awful pain (still have) but it is something else. They said I got water behind my eardrum, wich causes this pain, they also said it should go away with nasal spray. Okay, I thought, this should be over soon. But then I started to get trouble swallowing food, still, I didn't think that it might be linked to the ear. So at first I agnored the throat problem. But it didn't go away and I started to get worried when I saw that I lost weight. I'm 5'2 and I had 55 kilos, I had 47/48 Kilos after the problems started. And also, there was blood coming up my throat one morning ( it was only once but it still scares me)

When the problems didn't stop I decided to go to a doctor, but I felt ridiculously worse before I could get there. I felt nauseaus for about a week and on the day I should've been there, I had to make an emergency stop at my family doctor's office. I had to make another appointment at the other office a week later. (The nausea lastet for two weeks straight and the pills I was given didn't really help). So when I finally went there, they said: "Well, you are too young to have cancer but if the problem don't stop or get worse, you should make some tests."

So, he couldn't make these tests because he doesn't have the equipment so I had to make another appointment at another office. And they said: "You're too young to have cancer so the test isn't necessary." Well, it didn't make my situation better, but I was too tired and exhausted to argue, so I left.

I then went to another doctor two weeks ago and he read that I take AD's so he said: "Well maybe it's your depression." Without asking me if I am depressed or not. I got them for my anxiety attacks, not depression but I didn't have any anxiety attacks in the last months. Again they told me these tests aren't necessary. So I left again, still feeling terrible.

So the nauseaus feeling was on and off in the last couple of months, six months where I too often felt like shit and couldn't function. The pain in my ear doesn't stop! Last week it got so worse that my left side of the head hurt like crazy and the aspirin I took didn't really help either, I honestly wanted to freak out.

Now the nausea hit me again and it feels like it's worse than ever. Because I can't eat anything besides watermelon or ice pop without feeling like throwing up. I try it everyday because I don't want to lose any more weight, but I just can't. In short, I didn't eat much in the last days, I can honestly count it on three fingers.

It's just......I don't know. I wasn't depressed or anxious before, but my mood is really down right now. I just want to feel better. I JUST WANT THEM TO TAKE ME SERIOUS!!!

I don't even think that it's cancer but I feel it in my throat, there is something. They diagnosed that thing in my ear and since the pain got worse the problems in my throat got worse too. So it must be connected somehow.

I don't know what to do, everyday I wake up to pain in my ear and throat and now I fell nauseaus again and I can't even really eat anything, I feel hungry but I can't eat. There is a surgery to get rid of the water behind the eardrum but they don't even want to do that, and I'm sitting here with the fucking pain! I don't want to swallow an aspirin every two days god damnit! I want the pain to stop for good. Could they at least help me with that?

I just don't know what to do. I'm looking for another doctor again, and I hope that he's doing these tests. But I'm sitting here with that problem right now, I can't eat and I'm afraid I might lose more weight now......so.....god is here someone who can help me out? Someone who maybe had the same problem or a similar one?

Do you have Ear, Nose & Throat Drs, where you live? Have you tried one of those?

How about allergies? Sounds to me like you need something to dry up the water in your ear, it could be getting infected. Do they have Singulair where you live? It help dries up the flem and stuff. My daughter had constant ear pain where her ears were getting plugged and the flem in back of her throat was making her throat sore and stomach upset. They told her to get on Singulair and that helped dry her up. They also gave her an antibiotic.

Spitting up blood that 1 time could come from the throat tissues being raw.

Can you hold down a supplement like Ensure, that's what we have over here in the US. Maybe you could freeze it and eat it as a shake.

Try some vitamin water or something like pediasure to keep your electrolytes in check.

Try to stay clear of over the counter nasal sprays, they might make things worse.

I know you have been battling this for awhile, was hoping you were better.

Yes, I tried 2 of them doctors already. The first one was the one who didn't have the equipment in his office for the tests. He was also the one who told me to go to another doctor for the tests if it doesn't get better or worse. And the second one was the guy who made the Depression comment.

Thanks for the Tip with that singulair I'm going to ask the Family doctor when He comes Back from His Holidays next monday.

To the nasal spray, I stopped taking it a few days ago since I really had the Feeling that it made the whole issue worse.

I'll definitely try that Ensure thing tho

My ex had similar problems before. Really bad pain in his ear and he couldn't swallow. It turned out to be a really severe case of tonsillitis. It started with an earache and moved into his throat over the next few days. And you know what, he went to the doctor when the problem was just in his ear and the doctor prescribed him with a spray and left it at that. Needless to say, when the throat pain started he went back and told the doctor exactly what he thought of his medical skills, sore throat or not. And he got his money back.

Now, I'm not suggesting that you do what he did and threaten to shove a stethoscope up a place that stethoscopes were never supposed to go, but if you find your doctor to be dismissive then you need to be firm and tell them that you want a proper diagnosis and you want them to fix the problem.

Maybe you have a swimmer´s ear infection? Because I´ve had that once and your symptoms sound similar, and my doctors also didn´t take it very seriously until I just took an antibiotic that I got from a relative who´s not even living in Germany. And that antibiotic, cheap as it was, helped me get rid of swimmer´s ear within two days, whereas the doctors would just give me something like vaseline and tell me to relax.

As far as losing weight is concerned....it is much easier to put on some weight than to lose some.

Just find a comfort food that´s high in calories and just indulge.

For example, I love potato chips but they are very, very fattening and have unhealthy aspects such as acrylamide but, if you want to put on weight or keep your weight, eat some potato chips. One of the few health benefits they have is that they can help underweight people put on some pounds.

Or eat carbs in the evening and at night.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

This is what I'm planning to do, I'm not gonna let them send me away again without proper treatment. I forgot to add, it's not that I have a sore throat, not that kind of thing people have when they have an infection or something like that. It's more like there's something that stops the food when I swallow. As if there's something that shouldn't be there. I also feel it when I speak more than four sentences. And the pain feels different too, it feels like someone's trying to rip my upper jaw apart.

Wow, that thing with the vaseline sounds even dumber than the nasal spray neutral I'll try the potato chips today and that thing Penny told me about.

I remember my mother had a similar issue. Not exactly the same but similar. She didn't have any ear pain but she couldn't swallow. I can't remember the name of the condition, I'll find out later from my sister, but basically it was a sort of growth she had on the lining at the back of her throat. And, like with yourself, it stopped her from swallowing food. She got surgery to remove it and she was OK after that.

I'll find out the name of the condition and let you know just in case you want to read up on it and see if you think it might be the same thing. As far as I can remember, anyone can get it but you're more likely to get it if you smoke or drink. Do you do either of those things? Another cause can be from overuse of the vocal chords. Apparently a lot of rock singers get it.

Everything is connected... ears, nose & throat. You need to see a specialist. I'm not a doctor but it sounds like you have an infection, maybe in a gland around the ear. I bet a round or two of antibiotics are what you need. You need to make it clear to the doctor that you have been in pain for months, you knows your body better than anyone. If he/she suggests a spray again ask if you can try an antibiotic and see if there is any improvement. Unfortunately, so many people into the doctors just for meds or for every little sniffle sometimes they don't seem to catch everything. We have to be our own health officers nowadays.

Sorry, I am just seeing this post, but I agree with seeing an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist.

I went to two specialists before. The first one didn't have the right equipment for further tests and the second one was the guy who prescribed the nasal spray.

But I'll definitely tell them to give me something else instead of the spray.
