I really like his last movie he directed (think it was his last movie he directed).

When I saw "The Color Purple" in the theater, I noticed folks were laughing at scenes that weren't supposed to be funny. He overdid certain things, which is okay for an action/sci-fi film, but not for this movie.

Yeah, that was really good. The book was better in a lot of ways but even the book had a few too many coincidences in it for my liking. More often than not the hero was far too prepared for any challenge that came his way. Like, he had to act out an entire movie but it just so happens to be a movie he's seen hundreds of times. Then he needs to finish a video game and lo and behold, he's played that game hundreds of times before and knows exactly what he needs to do.

Ready Player One was really really bad. I left my faith in Speilberg shattered.
