Captain Fantastic. 3/5 Good movie for entertainment, but over the top romantization of living life off the grid. I couldn't get the doc "Surfwise" out my head, which is a real-life family who lived off the grid, nothing romantical about it.

Yes I did see the happy ending that could have been cut. But dad does come out looking like at douche at the end. Even with the happy ending because he ended up having to get a real house.

I recently went back and rewatched Citizen Kane 10/10 Amazing as always, but the thing i noticed this time around is all the work that went into putting this thing together. We always marvel marvel at the visuals, but the script and it’s sophistication. A movie like this wouldn’t be made today, it would go over to many people’s heads. And today’s movie critics love their movies dumb. (Even thinking some dumb movies are “smart”) But boy, I give props to everything about this movie, but especially it’s themes, the social, political element still hold relevant today. Isn't this a capitalist product of the 1% oppressors? Aren't you just reinforcing the patriarchy by patronizing these escapist, violent opioids of the masses? Shouldn't you be off somewhere, enlightening the people about the need to occupy Wall Street and support multi-millionaire socialist Michael Moore? And is there proper diversity in the casting, crew and producers of this series? Isn't this mostly a product of white, straight males? And what about 9/11? How can you sit back and watch this Hollywood nonsense while George W. Bush et al. get away with mass murder? What about the directed-energy beams?! And the framing of Asia Argento? And Rose McGowan (who took a hundred grand and kept her mouth shut, then turned around and chastised others for their 'silence and complicity' in letting these predators continue to prey upon women - all the while making more movies with her "rapist" and smiling in photos with her arm around him)? How 'bout the grave injustice of Louis C.K., thinking he should have a livelihood after asking some women if he could masturbate in front of them (even though some of them said Yes)?

P.S. I've never seen this (I don't like action stuff), but John Krasinski seems likeable.

13 Days, with Kevin Costner. 5/5

I thought that this movie is going to be really boring. But they did a good Job with it. I think the movie is based on Bobby Kennedys book, 13 Days, the Cuban Missile Crisis. That movie made me realize the pressure that comes with so much power and it's those moments who can show who you are as a leader. I think it was good that President Kennedy never gave in in these 13 Days. But I must say, that ultimately it was Bobby Kennedy who saved the day. He was the last person who talked to the russians. But that pressure they all must've felt must've been crazy and hard to bear.

Just imagine JFK would've said: "Yeah, let's bomb 'em away." Jesus, I probably wouldn't type this. I felt for the poor pilote who died, he was so damn young, and when they showed that scene, it was like I could feel his panic before the missile hits his plane. They did a good job with that.

What a great film ! If you love heist movies, western movies and drama, then this is a must-see movie.

Great acting and directing, stunning visuals and amazing chemistry between the actors (especially the interaction between Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham). There´s also great chemistry between Chris Pines and Ben Foster, who play bank robbers in West Texas.

Also a must-see if you are from Texas.

Beautiful pictures of the plains, a portrait of the struggling and forgotten little towns in that part of Texas, and a very touching story about two brothers. A movie that makes you reflect upon it for a while after watching it.

Taylor Sheridan´s screenplay and story are very genuine and I loved how he´s interwoven some of his own biograpy into this film, for example the Native American aspects. You can tell that Taylor Sheridan knows and understands Texas. This film is like an ode to Texas and the West .

I absolutely loved this movie.

This was more a drama than a horror, but had some funny bits and some creepy bits.

november (2018) 3.5/5 black & white estonian folk story/fairy tale/horror. just a bit too slow, bordering on plodding at times for me to completely love, & not really emotionally engaging either, but it's never anything less than great to look at, & it's confounding & bizarre and weirdly funny. if it was just a little tighter in pacing & had just a bit of an emotional tug to it, it might have been truly great.
