Star Trek 4.0

Dax and Riker both stared in the short live ABC TV series Paper Dolls back in 1984

Wow the episode Past Tense (aired Jan 1995) which has Dax/Bashir/Sisko are accidentally transported to the past in 2024 San Francisco, which is only 6 years away. At the time it aired in 1995, 2024 (which was 29 years away) seem so much futuristic.

It was the issue in the show of a 16 yo dating this older woman. It was and still is a social issue. shrug it's what ST does I thought.

I bet that same person flipped whenJake said the n-word, I know I did a double take.

DS9 was a brave show. Imo, the best in Trek. Of course it has stinkers too, bit Past Tense was great sci-fi drama and social conciousness.

Trek had serious competition from shows like Battlestar, Stargate, Firefly, etc. DS9 kept them honest.

Plus, Garak best character all time.

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

That's true. They focus more on religious aspects than any of the other shows. Plus Dax kissed a girl, and she liked it lol

Yeah because it is his son. But Sisko is open minded about other cultures and has been patient with Nog.

Well, Sisko learned that his son had some deeper qualities, and it wasn't a sex thing so. I do like how he handled it because he does have a quick though disciplined temper.

As funny as it sound the single parent relationship seem more believable and handle better than most other tv shows (way more believable than Wesly Crusher). Glad Jake was just a normal kid who did is own thing. I'm so glad that Jake wasn't nagging every week to go on an away mission or try to sneak aboard one of the runabouts.

Is that why so many ST fans couldn't stand Wesly? Yeah, it was good seeing Jake have his own life and ambitions not tied to Starfleet or anything to do with the Federation. Loved his and Nog's friendship, they got into so much mess as kids, but they grew up well.
