Negan is not killed in the comics.

True, but as you know, the show doesn't always follow what goes on in the comics wink

I just don't see the point of keeping Negan alive. His character is beyond redemption.

I'm not sure about that ... I think he's pretty much stuck to his moral code throughout, or what he believes is the right thing to do in his slightly twisted mind

I still think he's gonna pull back from slaughtering everyone at Hilltop at the last minute and it'll look like he's gonna make peace with Rick ... then at the last minute Rick will double cross him and stab him. Cue start of next season two years later and Negan is sat in a cell at Hilltop.

The back and forth between Rick and Negan, Hannibal and Clarice style, would be great to watch. Its also the sort of slow / talky scene AMC love to use to pad out their episodes so I can't see them turning down that opportunity.

Any deaths next week will be marginal characters I reckon, Father Gabriel or Tara, someone like that. Gotta a feeling something might happen between Rick and Michonne to split them up, possibly Rick not following Carl's last request to make peace with Negan ... I think that might drive a wedge between them that will carry over to the next season. I think they might also tease the next big villains (Whisperers) as the parting shot of the episode.

I was under the impression that they're gonna skip the Whisperers storyline altogether hmmm I don't think it's a good idea to go into another big war after the long one they just went through.By now,the writers must realize that viewers are tired of wars and villians, lol. They've already introduced us the Commonwealth crew, and in the comics, they don't appear until after the Whisperers war.Which I why I think that the show is gonna skip the Whisperers storyline.

This Sunday night is gonna be an EPIC night smile We get the season 8 finale of The Walking Dead, plus the season 4 season premiere of Fear The Walking Dead.....back-to-back! In some areas, these two episodes are being shown in movie theatres (which is perfect for those viewers who complain about the excessive amount of commercials during these shows, lol)

What will season 9 be like? Showrunner gives us a few hints:

"This finale is about closure,” Gimple told TheWrap ahead of the season’s finale Sunday. “It’s about closure of the All Out War storyline, but in some ways, this is a closure to the first eight seasons of the show.”

“Season 9 is going to be unlike things people have seen before on the show,” he added. “And it really is going to take on a very, very different vibe—a very singular vibe unto itself.”

It all sounds promising. After 8 seasons,it’s time for the show to go in some new directions.I’m tired of wars and villains.

I always take Gimple's comments with a huge pinch of salt. He loves hyperbole.

But, if this is the case surely it has to be the time jump they had in the comics. Two/three years later, gone are the cars, gone is the easier available guns and ammo.

The only other thing I can think of is this is where the comics and TV show completely split and the TV show goes in it own direction ... I can't see that happening though.

I think it would be cool if Season 9 introduced a different kind of zombie, the fast-moving, strong ones like in those 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later movies.

That sounds great, I would like to watch a peaceful season with human conficts without war and slaughter, something about reconstructing a society and some kind of government.

Me too, I'm tired of so much darkeness, although it's understandable in this zombie apocalypse

biggrin My favorite seasons are season 4 and 5.Remember when they were all at that prison and some of them got really sick? Remember when Carol had to shoot that little girl? That's the kind of storylines I want them to get back to! Strong storylines that don't rely on one evil villian.

Maybe we'll find out Sunday. Or, maybe they'll save that reveal for the beginning of Season 9 and leave us hanging until October.

will Father Gabriel get killed off in the season finale?

Image result for father gabriel

American actor Seth Gilliam, who plays Father Gabriel, said there’s relief in sight for fans who feel the war between the Alexandrians and the Saviors has dragged on too long.

“It’s coming to a conclusion. The story is going to be told to its end,” he said last month when he was in town for Toronto ComiCon.

Whether Father Gabriel will also reach his end in Sunday’s finale remains to be seen. The last we saw of him he was being held prisoner by the Saviors and a promo for the season ender shows him with a gun pointed at his head.

They were great storylines. One of my fave episodes was the flashback one that focused on Morgan and the guy who trained him to use his stick, that was brilliant ... they need to bring back those little spin-off episodes.

My all time faves though are the Negan introduction (the line-up with Lucille hovering over their heads was one of the mos gripping things I've ever seen on TV) and the episode where they had to escape Terminus where Carol finally went full Ripley and let off the bazooka.

I don´t mind this guy on the show, I really don´t....and he has his likeable moments but what exactly is the point of having him on TWD ? He´s not a fighter at all, on the contrary, he and Eugene are total cowards, but at least Eugene is innovative but what does Gabriel do for Rick´s group ? He´s not much of a spiritual guide either because he´s on the verge of losing his faith all the time.

I really don´t want him to go because I kind of like him and he adds some interesting vibe to the show but I wouldn´t be surprised at all if he had to go.

Merle (Daryl´s brother) was of great value due to his survival skills, same with Abraham who was a trained soldier, or T-Bone, or Glenn....or Hershel the doctor/veterinarian...but what has Gabriel ever done for Rick´s group ?

The Whisperers storyline sounds interesting but I would not really be too unhappy if they skipped that storyline completely. I´m also not too keen on seeing the timejump happen on TV because that would probably make an encounter with the FTWD posse even more unlikely.

I´d like to see more communities, more explanations for the virus and where it came from, more of what´s left of "civilization", more of bigger cities such as Washington, NYC etc. but I guess that would be too costly.

I'd like to see conflict between the main groups of the two shows, where from each of their points of view they are the "heroes" and the other cast are the "villains". wink
