The Americans - Season 4

I may have to go back and downgrade my perfect rating for season three because as great as that one was, season four was even better--definitely the best so far. 5/5

Jessica Jones Season 2.

Perhaps not as big an impact as Season 1 and definitely missing Season One's great villain, Season 2 still has enough of Jessica's unique charm to get by.

4/5

Dynasty, Season 1 (2017-) on Netflix and the CW, its not as good and campy as the 80s OG, but it is still a guilty pleasure......its more Desperate Housewives meets Devious Maids. Elizabeth Gillies (from Nick's Victorious) is the break-out star as Fallon Carrington, and its great to see her get the opportunity to shine.

I have been trying to watch this new show "Deception" that is about a magician that works with the FBI. I was hoping it would capture the magic of shows like Monk, Psych, or The Mentalist...(which are basically Sherlock Holmes). But so far it falls flat.

In the latest episode, the FBI investigates a murder that I must have missed how it was a federal case. And it ends up being one but I do not see how? And it was mostly predictable as it was ludicrous.

I so want it to be good: but so far 2 out of 5 stars.

This is one of the shows where I couldn't say which season or episode is better than another. The whle thing so far get's a 5/50, 10/10 or whatever EASILY. Such excellent writing and acting. And season 6 started just as good, so there's hardly a reason to think that this won't be a perfect show start to finish.

Miami Vice (1984-1990) was such a great show expect for Season 4, Episode 7 called Missing Hours guest starring James Brown and Chris Rock. The writers must have been on acid, because its the worst episode in the entrie series. I give the show an 4 out of 5 popcorn

Watched the 1st episode of Howards End, I remembered enjoying the movie with Emma Thompson and Anthony Hopkins (I see I need to do a revisit). I don't know yet if I'll stick. Funny seeing Tracey Ullman as this almost elderly woman, even with all her past diguises. The episode seem clipped, jumping from one instance to another and didn't flow smoothly and naturally but maybe it was just trying to introduce all the crucial characters and give you a taste of their personalities. The character I liked the best, feeling like a real person is going to be dead by the 2nd episode. I like the other characters but they seem like cariactures of personality types as opposed to being real people.

Oh yeah. I forgot , uh, I'll give it a 3/5 on the hope that it'll settle into a smooth flow.

Binge watched this over the weekend. It's very good.

I recently binge-watched 5 episodes on Showtime's streaming app. With better writers, this show could've been a sharp satire about race in so-called "progressive" Hollywood. But for the most part, it was a show about a cocky jerk navigating through an industry filled with sleazy jerks. 3/10

The Americans - Season 5

Admittedly, the season five poster above is partly what sold me on finally watching this series. Great design work there. I've read that many fans of the show thought this season was too slow, but I liked it almost as much as any other season. Looking forward to the series finale next month. 4.5/5

another show I wanted to like but it is too damn cliche is "The Good Doctor." The portrayal of Dr. Murphy is fine and the other story arcs are fine...but I just can not take the over the top medical issues. I know that is how medical dramas work (Like HOUSE--but at least House rare conditions was built into the premise) but it is too much. Especially the season finale. But what they have done well was the 'twists' as to outcomes.... but overall I doubt I will be returning when it resumes...if it does,

4.5/5 I still love The Originals, enjoyed the premiere, looking forward to this season even though it is the last. I even like how they got Carolyn and Klaus setup, even though I personally preferred Camille for him.

The X-Files - Season 11

The stand-alone episodes were enjoyable, but I've grown weary of the ongoing aliens plotline. This series needs a definitive ending already. 3/5

Nice X-Men reference in the finale though.

Westworld Season 2. I'm hooked. 9/10. Season 1 was a 10/10. This season started off a little slow but the episode tonight was deep. I'll still watch it to the end!

Well, now that New Girl is done: 8/10. Hard for me to rate, though. Sometimes I was really frustrated with some storylines. But the thing that was so great about this were the characters. Nick especially was such a unique characters and Jake Johnson played him to perfection. This show and the characters could be really silly and over-the-top and then offer real genuine, emotional moments. Going to miss it.

[I have watched all 7 seasons of Homeland, recently finished the 7th. The first two seasons were as compelling of a show as I have ever seen. Since then, it has generally been good but erratic. At the start of the 7th season, I was concerned that the series was reaching a new bottom. However, the last third of the season turned to be as compelling as it had been for quite a while. I will be back to watch the 8th and final season. Curious about other people's reactions to Homeland.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - Season 5

I still enjoy watching it. Season four's winning trifecta of Ghost Rider, LMDs and Madame Hydra appearances remains the series' high point though. 3.5/5

Riverdale (season 2)

This season was ridiculous, overstuffed and drawn out, but I love it boxed . Reminds me of the days when I used to keep up with soap operas. Cheryl is life.

If you will, so will I
