I'd suggest not. They are undercutting unions.

I've used it a few times. I like it a lot.

I hear the drivers make less than minimum wage but on the other hand, your job is to drive your own car. Much better than a minimum wage job at a fast-food restaurant or a big-box store, I would think.

Fuck a union. It was a mafia-esque market with only cabs. Lyft and Uber have challenged that and made a way of it. People are making a living on it now, so I say go for it. Learn from other drivers about how to host someone in your car. Music, those tiny water bottles, snacks. Make it a good place for them to be while you do your job. Go above and beyond, get that rating, and you'll do well.

I've used it before (If you have Lyft in your region, you can do both). I liked it, my experience was generally good and while the money was a slow-progression at first, it helped me somewhat financially. Of course, there was the occasional entitled douchbag here and there who I had to throw out of my car, but for the most part, people were generally friendly to me. You might wanna install one of those small cameras on the rear-view mirror though, especially if you plan on driving late hours. From my experience, I noticed that no matter how crazy some people think they are, common sense suddenly walks into the picture when they realize that there's a camera within the vicinity. Good luck! thumbs up!

Thank you for your feedback Purple People!
I’ve done the initial application and now need to obtain driving records and get a criminal check.....

Fingers crossed I don’t pick up any backseat drivers or practicing criminals lol

I couldn't do it. I'm very particular about who gets in my car. Imagine ubering for hungover people and one of them barfs all over your backseat. No, thanks. lol Good luck with it though.

If they puke in your car $250 they get charged for cleanup. I have a "friend" that is daddy rich and she drives SUV Lincoln Uber to pass time. Tried to get me to quit the job and join her on a yacht for a few years traveling. She just wanted to hang out naked and catch fish and have sex and go port to port. I couldn't give up real life.

What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

I would try to refrain from jobs that require you to assume all the risks while the corporation benefit from your work. You have to use your car that loses its' value the more miles you put on, plus gas and maintenance that costs out weigh most of what you can earn. And since you are not an employee, but a work for hire you don't have work rights as a regular employee of a company would be forced to provide.

^^kewlschool. I agree. If you really want to make a money in "transportation" you have to get into the business of medical transportation where you transport old people from and to appointments and bill medicare. It is not as exciting as dealing with tourists or party people but more safe and where the money is at. It may be a two person operation where you have someone at home answering calls and working a laptop and someone else driving an taking orders.

Uber offer those services like "Assist" and "wav".
